Chapter One: CatCo

~(Y/N)'s POV~
I was watching the news on my couch while drinking some coffee. "Supergirl saved a mother and a child from being squished by a boulder that was being held up by a chain while the workers worked on the street. That was not a good idea" The news lady said and I sighed "no it wasn't. But luckily Supergirl saved the day" I said and turned off the TV "you mean your crush?" My brother, Aaron said behind me. I turn to him and glared "shut up!" I said while a blush forms on my face. Aaron chuckles "aww is little (Y/N) getting embarrassed" Serphina, my sister, said with a pout. "Out!" I yelled and threw pillows at them. They laughed and ran out of my apartment. I sighed and flopped down onto my couch. Ok maybe I had a crush on a superhero....but Supergirl will never love me. My phone buzzed and I pick it up to see it was Cat Grant, my boss at CatCo. She said I was late. "Crap!" I yelled and got up and got ready.
~At CatCo~
I got off the bus and got in the elevator. I stepped out of the elevator and to my desk to see Cat sitting on it. "(Y/N), you finally decided to show up" Cat said and got off "I'm so sorry Ms. Grant! It won't happen again! I promise!" I said and Cat sighs "fine. But you won't be so lucky next time. Just be lucky we're close friends or you would have gotten extra paperwork" Cat said before walking to her office. I sighed in relief and got to work. When I was writing papers I remembered how I got to Earth and my planet being destroyed like Krypton.
~Flashback~
I was 9 years old and I was at the space deport we're they send off space pods for emergencies. But there was only a few left. My mom kneels down and grabs both of my hands while explosions we're heared along with my sobs. "(Y/N), your going to go to a planet named Earth where you will do remarkable things" Mom said and I nod, not being able to speak. "We will always miss you. But we will be in your heart at all times. Remember that" Dad said and pointed to my heart. "Ok daddy, ok mommy" I said and we hug. They both kiss my forehead and pulls away with tears rolling down their faces. My mom puts me into one of the Space pods and closes the lid. "We love you" they said and the engine starts "I love you too" I said and it blasts off. I hear my planet get destroyed and see Krypton get destroyed to. But a huge rock hits my pod and makes it go off course.
~End Of Flashback~
I sighed "that was a long time ago (Y/N)..." I mumbled to myself. I soon see Kara walk by my desk. I watch as she goes to her desk and sits down. I blush and look away. Why does she have to be so hot? I ask myself in my head. Suddenly, I feel my hands get warm. I look at them and see fire form onto my palms. I soon took control and made them vanish. I groan in boredom and looked at my work I just wish I didn't have powers....life would be so much easier and there would be less stress on my shoulders I thought. Aaron, a reporter, came to me. He had short black hair, golden eyes, and tan skin. He was quite muscler too. But he wasn't my type. "Ms. Grant wishes to see you (Y/N)" Aaron said with a deep voice and walks off. He seems like a jerk at first but he's actually a great friend. Like for example, Cat Grant. She seems mean but when you get to know her more shes actually funny, kind, and sometimes protective. I got up and walk into Cat's office. "Ms. Grant? You wished to see me?" I asked "yes. I wanted to discuss some news" Cat said not looking away from her work. "Ok so do I take a seat or?" I said and she looks at me clearly annoyed "yes" Cat said and I take a seat in front of her desk. "First off, do you know about Supergirl?" Cat asks.
~Kara's POV~
I was listening to random conversations until Cat said something that caught my attention "First off, do you know about Supergirl?" I hear Cat say. I look at her office to see she was talking to (Y/N). (Y/N) nods "of course shes quite unique!" (Y/N) said and I smile with a blush. "So you know about all the crimes she sloved over the past month?" Cat asked "yep! What about em?" "I want you to make an essay on them. Pick any crime and if you need help ask someone to help you" "ok Ms. Grant! Is that all you wanted to talk about?" "Yes, you are dismissed" (Y/N) then gets up and walks to her desk. Maybe I can help I thought and got up and walked to her desk.
~(Y/N)'s POV~
I was working on the essay Ms. Grant assigned me to do on my computer until I see a familiar blonde lady walking to my desk. I glance at Kara and blush a little before turning back to my work. Is she really going to my desk? I thought and turns out I was right. "Hey (Y/N)! Need some help? I couldn't stop but hear about the essay Ms. Grant assigned you to do? I'm quite a fan of Supergirl" Kara said and stood next to me. I stopped my typing and turned to her "you sure? You have your own work to do and I don't want to stress you out" I said and she smiles. Oh how I love that smile. "Yep! I'm positive! Now what crime are you working on?" Kara said and grabbed a near by chair to sit in.
~2 hours later~
We worked on the essay for about 2 hours until Cat stopped us "Kara, aren't you suppose to be working on the essay I assigned for you?" Cat said "gah! Sorry Ms. Grant! I forgot! Sorry (Y/N) but I have work to do. You ok on your own?" Kara said and I nod with a smile. She rushes to her desk and got to work. "You just love this don't you?" I asked and Cat looks at me "hm? What do you mean?" Cat asks 'inoccently'. I groaned "your teasing me by making Kara stress so I can spend more time with her to help her. You say it's your little card game" I said and Cat giggles "yep! Your right! I love this!" Cat said and I groan. "Well anyways work ends in 15 minutes. So better get packing" Cat said and walks off to her office. I sighed and started packing up my stuff. Once I was down shutting off my computer and all that I realise that Kara isn't realising how late it is. I sighed and went to her. "Kara, work ends in-" I pause to look at my watch "in 10 minutes" I said and Kara sighs before shutting off her laptop and putting it away. "Ok, I better get home before you or Alex does a tantrum about this and won't leave me alone" Kara joked with a smirk and I huff "whatever! I don't do a tantrum!" I pouted and Kara giggles. We go down the elevator and said our goodbyes when we went separate ways.
~At Home~
I went inside and put down my purse. I sighed and looked out the window. I look at the stars before getting ready for bed.
