"You see, living alone can be a major pain in the ass sometimes. For starters, you don't get to make fun of the only person living with you, and Joe Sugg's tutorials on pranking your roommate go right out of the window." I say lightly as I remember that one time when Leanne and I had binge watched some hilarious videos on Joe's YouTube channel.

"Well, living alone could have some perks as well?" Gina asks as she mops the already clean floor.

"Maybe. You get too lonely to calculate the benefits, to be honest." I sigh and lean against the wall.

"But, it's a good thing that you have Madeline, isn't it? You guys are literally inseparable. I respect such honest friendships."

"Yeah. She's my rock. But, thank you for keeping me company today, Gina. My thoughts would've killed me today had I been alone."

"No problem. Just know that whenever Madeline's not around, you should know where to find me. Okay?"

"Yes, okay." I smile at her and give her a warm hug. "It's getting late, Gina. You should go. You have to catch the bus and I want you to travel safe."

"Yeah, but what about you? How are you going?"

Her question heats up my face with a blush.

"Um. Dylan's picking me up." I say and just then, a car pulls up outside the diner. Gina kneels close to the window to take a good look at the person behind the steering wheel.

"Holy cow! It's that hot guy! Are you guys going out or something?" She looks at me.

"Uh, I don't know yet."

"What?" Her face morphs into a black expression. "Then why were you two snogging like a pair of eels the other day?!"

"What are you talking about?!" Oh god. I'll dig my own grave one day and bury myself in it.

"Come on, Cheryl. You think no one saw your intense make out session next to the exit door, three days ago? I swear it was the topic of a heated discussion."

"Oh no." I slap my forehead.

The door of the diner opens to reveal a very happy Dylan Martin. The sole sight of his gorgeous face makes my heart race.

"Okay, hold on. Let me make some things clear for you. But, don't speak a word." She walks up to Dylan and smiles warmly at him. "Hello sir! I'm afraid the diner is closed for the night."

"Yeah, I know that. I'm here to pick up your friend back there." He points at me and I stifle a laugh.

"You mean, Cheryl?" He nods. "I'm sorry, but as far as I know, she doesn't have a brother or a boyfriend who'd pick her up at this hour of the day."

I busy myself with cleaning the tables and try my best to not burst into a fit of laughter.

"I'm a close friend." He insists. "It's getting late."

"Sir, I can't let my friend leave with just anyone at this peak hour."

"You can ask her for yourself. Right, Cheryl?" He looks at me and I shrug my shoulders.

"Do I know you, sir?" I ask and he narrows his eyes at me.

"That's rich."

"Hold on. Have you been here before, sir? I have a feeling I saw you three days ago." Gina will murder my sanity today. I swear.

"Yes! Exactly! I was here. I was here three days ago and..." He stops and goes red in the face.

I can't help it. I laugh out loud and the sound echoes in the hallowed hall.
