Todays the day I start my apprenticeship, my parents managed to snag me a place with the prestige bosses in exchange for one of their kids going to work with my parents at their firm. I don’t really know why anyone would want to work with them; their jobs so boring I don’t even really know what they do. I could never be bothered to find out, but I didn’t care because I was going to London for 12 weeks to work with prestige management.

I should probably introduce myself, I’m Isabella, and I’m 18 and am currently living in Essex. Don’t even ask me to say ‘shutup’ or ‘jel’ because I will refuse. Stupid TOWIE show… Anyway, I’ve just finished my A Levels and don’t start Uni until September, so I thought it would be a good idea to do some work experience for my course. I’m going to study music and management; so prestige is perfect.

Not to mention they work with some of my favourite bands, McFly, The Struts and of course THE VAMPS, I don’t know what they’re going to have me doing for the next few weeks but I’m praying they ask me to watch the boys get changed or something… I’d do that for them, I guess it’s an experience.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

My mum walks into my room as I’m placing the last few items of clothing into my monstrous suitcase, 12 weeks of stuff for a girl is a lt.

‘Right, are you sure you’ve got everything?’ She asks for the 100th time

‘Yes mum, do a check list though.’

‘Clothes?’

‘Check’

‘Pyjamas, underwear and toiletries?’

‘Check’

‘Makeup, hair stuff, phone charger?’

‘Yes mum, okay I’ve got everything, can we go now please!’ I plead with her; I just want to go now.

My parents place everything in the back of the car as I grab my jacket and say goodbye to my dog, I’ll probably miss her more than my family honestly, she’s the only one who doesn’t annoy me on a daily basis. Once everything’s in the car, we head off. It’s only about an hour from my house to central London but when you’re as excited as I am it feels like forever.

As we drive past the obnoxious Essex signs I happily wave goodbye to everyone and everything in Essex, leaving there will be the best thing for me, London opens up so many opportunities and experiences. This is going to be the best summer of my life.

I check my twitter throughout the drive and see if The Vamps are up to anything interesting, they all post such weird shit on twitter I don’t even understand most of it, my thoughts are interrupted by the satnav saying ‘You have reached your destination’. I look up at the vast building and take in the fact that I’m going to be here everyday for 12 weeks. Butterflies erupt in my stomach and I suddenly become ridiculously nervous.

Pull yourself together Isabella; this is what you want to do. So do it.

Shoving my phone in my back pocket I step out of the car and walk round to the boot, I yank my bags out of the car; I place them on the curb and turn around, but before I’m fully up I’m being pulled into an all consuming hug from my mum. This is weird, we’re not the affectionate type, but she knows this is the last time she’ll see me for a while.

‘Look after yourself please, don’t do anything stupid, text me and ring me everyday….’

She went on and on for several minutes; I can tell she still looks at me as a 5 year old who can’t put her shoes on the right feet, but I’m an adult now, this is just part of life.

‘…Understand?’ she finally finished.

‘Yes mum, I understand.’

‘Good, have a wonderful time and try not to miss us too much.’ She laughed trying to lighten the situation.

I will miss them, all of them including my obnoxious 15-year-old brother, even though we all fight majority of the time it would be weird not waking up and seeing them everyday.

‘I’ll keep you updated mum, don’t worry I’ll be okay. I promise.’

I smiled at her reassuringly, I want to understand that it will be okay and I’m not going to die! I’m only in London, it’s not like I’m going to the moon for gods sake.

‘I know you will, you always are, we’ll miss you okay’

‘I’ll miss you all too, but it’s fine we can Skype and stuff cant we?’

‘Of course darling’

I walked over to my dad and hugged him goodbye,

‘Look after mum for me, you know she’s going to be a complete mess now I’m gone’ I giggled

He smiled back at me and nodded.

‘Don’t get yourself into any trouble misses and stay away from them band boys, you’re here for work’ He smiled, letting me know he wasn’t serious.

‘No of course not dad, this is a business at the end of the day…’ I said giving him my serious face.

‘But I mean if Brad Simpson wanted to take me on a date I wouldn’t say no’ I added as I walked away, I looked over my shoulder to see him laughing slightly.

I picked my bags up off the curb and started walking into the building, my work place!

OH MY GOD IM WORKING AT PRESTIGE!

I heard the car doors slam and I knew this was it; this was the start of my summer, my summer of work. Who knows what could happen.
