"What do you propose we do?" A young male in his early twenties voiced out to the DSS(Deval Secret System). His knee bouncing at a fast pace as he continued to click and unclick his pen agitatedly, a habit done out of nervousness. His palms sweaty from self-inflicted stress.

"Surely everything is under control!" A woman in a white pencil dress spoke up as she stood abruptly from the glass meeting table. Clipboard held tightly against her chest, as if to bring her some sort of comfort. Her fine, blonde hair was put back into a tight ponytail. The skin at her hairline a faint pink expressing the many times her hair had been tightened the same way. Her once fair face now flushed red as her electric blue orbs were wide with angst and anguish.

"N-no harm can come are way. We h-have the highest technology there i-is." A man in an off-white lab coat shakily spoke out. Pushing his black, circle rimmed glasses further up his nose; which had fallen due to the thin layer of sweat coating his face. Not from the heat inside the room, but due to the tension in the air that seemed to form throughout the long lasting meeting.

It had already turned nightfall, the meeting wasn't getting anywhere and everyone was worn out from mental strain. They had been discussing their results from the tests they took for the past three and a half hours. The results weren't adding up, which was out of the ordinary - each and every single one of them had changed. Something was not right. They needed accurate verdicts or else they wouldn't get any closer to answers. Answers that were vital.

Vital to break and demolish him.

"We have observed him for ten years now and not much has changed except for the results a few years back due to puberty. A few mistakes were in the result, so what. What makes you think he is a threat to any of us now?" Another rested his foot on the desk while yawning. Everyone's eyes abruptly gazed at him in silence. All of them wanting to say something. None of them could tho. Not if they wanted to keep their job.

The noisy conference meeting, was now in complete silence. Too silent. As if the room was vacant.

"How could you be so dismissive?! Do you not remember who he is - what he is?! If you haven't noticed, Dr Vitale, his growth is different from ours! For him, Puberty is strength and for us, his gain in strength is a danger to society - you know what this can do!!" Another stood. He'd had enough of his colleague's behaviour. How could someone so careless be Project Manager.

Once again, heads were turned - but in shock. No-one had ever spoken out of line. They learnt their place at the beginning and quite swiftly. Whatever the boss said went, there was no room for defiance. He was brutal and knew how to manipulate others. How to get inside your mind. He could read anybody like an open book. He was like the Devil in human form. Dr Vitale was able to keep you stuck; to keep you feeling trapped. Blackmail - one of the easiest ways. It didn't matter if he knew you or not, he would find dirt on you. He enjoyed 'angels' the most. The ones who were too good to make any mistakes. Always used their loved ones as bait.

But for Dr Davis, Vitale knew exactly what to use to get under his skin.

His lack in position.

Vitale seemed unfazed at the latters outburst, his eyes resting on him as he watched him intently. " Dr Davis, is it? And who are you to question me...?" He spoke calmly, his head tilted to the side, resting on a semi-clenched fist as he examined Davis, his face void of emotion. "Have you forgotten that I know more than you do? Especially about him? I know things you don't even know about, yet you have the courage to defy and question me?" He rose a brow as he smirked.

Everyone stiffened. This wasn't good. At first glance you'd think Vitale was a lazy and reckless man but you would be ignorant to think so. You could just see the gears working in his head. Everyone knew something was to happen and soon; one thing was for sure, Vitale was the only one who knew what it was.

Dr Davis was never fond of the boss' prominence. Vitale was younger and had basically got his role handed to him on a silver plate by his Father, Davis didn't think that he deserved project manager but that he himself did. So at any chance he got, he would try to defy him by sneaking in a cheeky comment once in a while. Always trying to make him 'respect his elders.'

Vitale chose not to 'dispose' of him yet. You see, anyone who had gone missing from DSS were never remembered or spoke about. This project was secured by the government. If any exclusive information got out, then those responsible would be punished accordingly.

Vitale didn't do anything yet because he wanted Dr Davis to learn his lesson. For the past four years, he had finally snapped and wanted Davis to suffer in the worst way possible. Something told him that today would be the day.

He just had to sit back and watch it unfold.
