'Are you alright?' Somebody in a white coat asked me. I didn't answer. Then there was silence. Same person would proceed to ask me a different question, I wouldn't answer and then there was silence again. This kind of went continuously on for about five minutes. After seeing their clothes, I refused to look away from the sheets, I was covered with. That person just reminded me of the place I barely escaped with my life.

"Elsy!" The deep voice spoke once more. Who? Only a few seconds later, I heard a door creak. Only then did I avert my eyes from the sheets. In came a woman with fair skin that looked so smooth, who wore a navy blue dress with a white apron at her waist. She had bright blue eyes and almost platinum hair. She was quite petite, but you could tell she was quite lean. Healthy.

"Yes, Doctor price?" She answered. So Elsy was her name and that man was a doctor? Only then did I turn my gaze upon him. As they spoke, I just examined him, standing there in his all too familiar white apron. I don't like men, they are all evil and want things for their own gain. He had light brown hair and sharp eyebrows. His eyes were a dark brown and he was quite tall. His movements were fluid, and he spoke to her calmly. His voice had a strong accent, one I knew all too well. American. Heard it everyday at the institution, disgusting. I grimaced. He looked so comfortable and I didn't like that.

I was already zoning out, trying to assess the situation that I was in. Started asking myself questions that I already figured out had no answers to. Like why was I here and how did I get here? What did they want with me? I didn't remember much, only a few fragments. I remember there was a wolf attack, snow everywhere... for days on end there was just snow, until there was a man in that snow and my last fragment was me waking up here. I need to find a way to escape, to once again be free. But i'm reluctant. There's something in this place that I want - no need. But I don't know what it is. It doesn't seem to be in this...room. So where could it-

"Excuse me..." My thoughts were cut short as the soft voice of the woman filled my ears. My eyes straight away snapped to her, scaring her a little. Pathetic.

An easy kill. I heard in my head. I had to refrain from smirking. Easy now.

"My name is-"

"Elsy...I know." I deadpanned, cutting her off. She started to fiddle with her hands as she swallowed, looking to the man for help. I blinked unbothered, looking over at him, cocking my eyebrow. If there was something that needed to be said, they should speak. I mean, it would only benefit me if they did, I would have more time to think, to think of a way to make my escape.

Sparing one more glance at the man, I decided to look for something deeper that was not showing on the surface. My eyes narrowed. Found it. This man was strong, had an inhuman vigor to him. Almost like a beast was hidden underneath the human skin, just waiting to be set free. There's no way that I could escape without having to put up a fight. A fight that half of me would never pass up, even if the other half felt it nothing more than to be a pointless waste of energy. But just from looking at this man, a fight would definitely happen, I just need to find the right moment to attack. A pothole, a weakness - anything.

There will always be a right moment, patience my child. I heard it again, that voice in my head, confusing me a little. I went to turn and look out of the window, only then noticing a bright gleam in the corner of my eye. I slowly brought my gaze back to the man, the source of that gleam held firmly in his hands. Chains. My eyes narrowed in on him, and my gaze became deadly. I've honestly had enough. There is no way I'm gonna be locked up. Not again.

My eyes connected with the man's, as I slowly stood up and rounded the corner of the bed. Totally ignoring the shaking form that stood still in the corner. His eyes stayed glued to mine, as he turned fully to face me. I continued to stagger towards him as a low growl vibrated in my chest. He didn't move an inch, just staring at me. Even raised an eyebrow as if to challenge me. So he wasn't scared. Interesting.

I felt my nails start to elongate as I stepped closer, softly scraping my bare thighs as my arms slightly swung. My eyes darkened one more time.

...

Then I blacked out.

{Maid Elsy's pov}

It happened all too fast. The woman pouncing, the chains, blood. And I just stood there, shaken to the bone, unable to move. My mind was in a frenzy, what was I supposed to do? Dr. Price would be on top of the woman in one moment, then beneath her the next. I looked down at my hands, what could I possibly do? There was nothing I could-

"Elsy!", I was forced back into focus, when Dr.Price called my name. I looked back up at the scene in front of me and put all my focus on him.

"The chains, Elsy! Get the chains!" He was frantic. I heard all that he said, yet my feet just stayed there, stuck, planted to the wooden floorboards. I looked back down.

"Focus on me! THE CHAINS! NOW!" He growled, and for once I saw a feral side of him that I knew he kept hidden. The woman was still struggling underneath him as I willed myself to finally move from my spot. I ran as fast as I could and grabbed the four chains, Quickly wrapping each end to the four posts on the bed. When he saw that I had done this I heard him curse and then apologies. There was a thump and then there was silence.

Dr. Price slumped back, falling on his bottom, his chest rising rapidly as he huffed, his head inclined backwards. Only then did I notice the blood on his side. My eyes slightly widened.

"You're hurt." I spoke, my quiet voice slicing through the silence. I glanced in front of him, to the heap of a woman unconscious on the floor, her chest rising and falling softly. I came close to him, bent down slightly. My hand inched nearer to his wound. He slapped my hand away, and slowly got up.

"I'm fine, I don't need your help. Just get her on the bed," He groaned, moving away, signaling toward the unconscious woman. I swallowed, a bit offended that he denied my help, but got on with my job. I picked her up expecting a bit of weight, but it was as if she had none. I stared down at her in my arms. "She's underweight", I thought out loud, placing her softly onto the bed. Her raven hair was everywhere, long and sprawled over the pillows of the bed.

"That may be so, but she has too much strength to not seem healthy." Dr. Price grunted out, shifting slightly on the chair that was placed right in front of the window, near to the edge of the bed. He held his side tightly as I continued to tie the chains around her wrists and ankles.

"I'm done," I stopped in front of him, seeing that more and more blood continued to seep through his white lab coat. "I-It's still-" I stuttered.

"Don't you think I know that?" He cut me off. "It's not healing, there's something in her stupid nails." He continued, grunting from the pain. My eyes widened. Not healing? That shouldn't be possible. "But that shouldn't be possible! I need to tend to your wounds." I rushed out trying to get closer to him. To care for him, only to be stopped again.

"I told you i'm fine! Get that through our head. It's not a fatal wound, it's just not healing as fast as normal wounds. Go tell Kiren." He snapped at me and I flinched. Why does he push me away? Finally finding my footing, I moved back and ran out of the room in search of Master Kiren.

I ran down the stairs, in a hurry going straight to the downstairs office, hearing their voices from a distance. I need to help Price. Without knocking, I barged through the door.
