Beachy vibes (Ch. 6)

Emily POV

Justin walked a little closer to me but not too much because he parked right next to us and that would not end well. Oh shit, I can't believe this is happening. One second I'm looking for my towel that I forgot and then next thing you know I am standing in front of someone I thought I'd never meet in my whole life.

"Dude, careful you almost ran me over! I didn't see you.." I laughed awkwardly. "Sorry you just surprised me, It's really nice to see you." I say hugging him.

"It's okay, I really need to watch where I'm going, Emily." He chuckled.

"What are you doing here? I haven't talked to you since high school. What brings you to Chicago?" I say fast as my words start jumbling.

"I moved to Chicago about a few months ago actually and wanted to check out the beach because honestly, I've been busy with my new job and I didn't even know Chicago had a beach, do you live here?" He asks laughing at me mixing up my words and talking so fast.

"Yeah, I do. Sage and I just moved here a few days ago actually,  but things have been pretty...complicated lately." I say.

"Really? Why?" He says.

"It's a long story. I'll tell you about it later if you want, I'm not here to stress about that." I said laughing.

"Yeah, that's fine. We could hang out another time to talk about it." He said.

"Yeah, of course! Do you want to come with me back to the beach? I'd love to hang out with you." I said.

"Sure." He replied.

We walked back down to the beach and suddenly everyone was gathering around us and staring at Justin. This is a bit awkward.

"Um...guys, this is Justin, I used to talk to him in part of high school, he's really nice." I say.

Abbie's P.O.V

      This asshole again, I thought she stopped talking to him. I think I might be a bad person for not liking him or I read to much into things but, he's a dick.

      We used to talk but he kind stopped chatting with me after Erik and I started dating. I thought that was a dick move but I liked that he was there for Emily. In all honestly he is a great guy I just have trust issues so I think I'll keep my eye on him. 

    Erik being the outgoing and welcoming guy he is stepping forward and he holds his hand out.

"Hey dude, I'm Erik, nice to meet you." Erik said.

"Hey, I'm Justin, and it's nice to meet you too." He said shaking his hand.

Emily's POV

I take off my over suit and through it on my towel. Iran as fast as I could toward the water because my feet starting to burn from the hot sand. Justin and Erik looked confused at me and I just gave them a waving signal.

"What are you all doing? Aren't you guys coming in?! Last one in has to take me on a special dinner date!" I yell jokingly.

At first they just smiled and rolled there eyes, There was a mix of surprise and terror in their actions. Almost everyone was sprinting towards the water, Haha, I guess none of them wanted to go out with me. The only ones who didn't care about coming into the water were Sage, Grace, and Justin. Justin sat down under the umbrella and finally the others jumped in the water and started talking.

Sage had a strange look on her face and walked over to me, she motioned for me to come out of the water and I did. She pulled me off to the side.

"I have to go.." She said.
