"What's wrong with her doctor? Is she alright? " Randhir asked worried, with his heart in his mouth.

"Mr Shekawath, was your wife too stressed out? Is there something disturbing her?"

"No doctor. Nothing I remember. She was very happy yesterday because she meet my friends. What's wrong doctor? Will she be fine?" Randhir

"Mr Shekawath your wife suffered a heart attack. She is stable now, but I would suggest she is kept as happy as possible. Seems like your wife has palpitations, which may have caused the attack. Palpitations are not usually life threatening but in her case it's more advanced and complex."

"Heart attack! Palpitations?" Randhir wishpered in a shocked voice.

"Can you brief me about her condition?" Randhir asked in a stance, Confused at the worry he felt for his stranger wife.

"Palpitations are electrical short circuits in the heart. It causes pain and discomfort. When the heart is beating too fast, pounding too hard or skipping a beat, or slowing down the condition is called heart palpitations. In biological terms its called arrhythmia.

Like I said palpitations are not usually life threatening but in case of your wife it has reached a more advanced level. She is suffering from Ventricular fibrillation. A condition which occurs when ventricular tachycardia is left untreated. It usually precedes a heart attack. You could lose consciousness within seconds and die within minutes.

It's usually caused by stress and anxiety. She might have not gotten it treated on time which triggered the condition. She was lucky that she survived the attack because you brought her on time. If you were even five minutes late, we would have lost her. Take care of her."

The doctor patted his shoulders before moving away to attend his next patient while Randhir stood still not knowing what to do.

Randhir watched her from the door, his heart aching at the sight of the machines and tube attached to her body.

'Was he responsible for her condition?' He asked himself as guilt seeped in. He was shocked at the worry he felt for her when she wouldn't wake up.

'What was it? Perhaps that's what people call humanity' he thought.

Randhir was hesitant as he entered the room. May be because he was scared at how vulnerable he felt when he rushed her to the hospital. May be he was too scared to face her.

He hated her and he knew that. But perhaps, Parth was right. She wasn't at mistake. But the nagging devil at the back of his mind still refused to believe her. Randhir hesitantly caressed her hairs while her lips crept into a peaceful smile. Time passed as he subconsciously fell asleep with his hands still on her hair.

Morning gave it's appearence as Sanyukta blinked her eyes finding herself at an unknown place. Feeling a soft touch on her forehead, sanyukta curiously turned to look at the source. A gasp escaped her lips to find her newly wedded husband sleeping in a uncomfortable position.

She slowly pinched his forearm causing him to wince while her eyes widened in realisation.  'He is for real?' A warmth filled her hollow heart as her lips stretched to a smile.

"What the! Are you crazy? What was that!" Randhir asked shooting her a hard glare.

"I just wanted to check if you are real." She pouted twisting her nose  while Randhir looked at her for the first time with a genuine smile on his face.
