"Beb, Benny, Benjamin," I said, flopping backwards onto the couch in the Gryffindor common room, "I'm bored as hell, and it's lunch time. I finished my book and you're taking forever. Who are you writing to anyways?"

Ben pushed his hair out of his face, "No one," he sighed, "Just back home. And I wanna write to Sam but I don't wanna write to someone who's here because that's weird, ya know?"

"Not here anymore, Benny boy." I reminded him, sighing, he kept forgetting that Sam had graduated from Hogwarts and had a real job now. He was a singer, he had a song on the radio just the other day, Benny and I flipped out when we heard it. It was awesome. Amazing. Fetch? "No excuse not to write to your mate who you fancy."

"I don't fancy him! Stop saying that, you have everyone thinking that I fancy him." Ben freaked out, fixing his hat again, which I don't know how is in with the uniform, but the backwards hat is always on his head. Gryffindor rep, which is great. I don't know what he wears out in the muggle world though...

"You have everyone thinking that you fancy him because you always act as though you fancy him."

"Well, I don't. Come on, we need to get to lunch, we have tryouts today and since you're the captain..." Ben trailed off, getting up and brushing off his clothes. It's Saturday, so we're not in uniform, meaning Benny is in joggers and a sweatshirt. As always.

"Woah, woah, since when are you rushing me? I was rushing you ten seconds ago. Are you just tired of this conversation, Benny Boy?" I asked, standing up and leaning onto him jokingly, batting my eyes. Maybe this is why people think I fancy Ben...

"Maybe. Or maybe I'm just famished. Come on!" He demanded, taking my hand and pulling me out of the common room and towards the Great Hall.

"Okay, okay, no need to actually rip my arm out of it's socket." I shake my head, sitting down at the pretty desolate Gryffindor table. Since we have tryouts today most people are probably already off on the field... But not the captian, because her best friend is a slowpoke.

"I didn't, okay, you're fine. Don't be a whiny baby." Ben stuck his tongue out at me, and I rolled my eyes.

"Whatever, I'm not that whiny. You're the one who tugged me all the way here." I pointed out, taking a bite of my red beans and rice, which is one of my favorite meals. I've been trying to go vegetarian for a while now, but whenever I go home for the holidays my family won't make me tofu. Or veggies. Or anything that isn't what everyone else it eating.

"Sounds like you're being whiny to me..." Ben pointed out, shoving his fork in my general direction. I sighed, taking a few more bites before I stand up.

"Come on, we gotta hustle. Tryouts start in like 15 minutes and I bet you they're all already there warming up." I said, jogging towards the door. Ben runs after me, being shorter than me, his legs are tinier than mine. It's fun to laugh at.

My worst fear is realized when we reach the Quidditch Pitch. The Ravenclaw team is practicing and the Gryffindor kids are huddled on the stands. I frowned, and the captain of the Ravenclaw team flies down to talk to me.

His name is Brandon, and I think I kinda have a crush on him. A little bit. "Hey, Gabi. Were you guys supposed to have to pitch today?" He asked, getting off his broom.

"Yeah, we have tryouts in a few minutes. Could you guys cut it short so that I can assemble my team? I'll owe you big time, B." I begged, basically giving him puppy dog eyes. Ben had left at this point, but I knew he'd be mocking me about it later. He always did.

Brandon sighed, "Yeah, I mean, I guess. I'm sure we all have studying to do and shit. I'll get back to you on what you owe me." he smirked, walking away to get the rest of the Ravenclaws of the 'field'. Including a younger girl who I'd never seen before, but looked familiar for some reason. Like I couldn't place it. She smiled at me, and I smiled back. She seemed okay... Maybe I'd get to know her at some point. As she left the pitch, she was joined by another girl around her age in a Hufflepuff scarf. They walked off talking vivaciously and I turned to my potential team.

"Okay, hey. My name is Gabi and I am the Captian of the Gryffindor quidditch team, and also one of your chasers. If you didn't know, you're here for tryouts, and I'm very excited to have all of you with me. This is my second in command, Ben," I said, motioning to Ben as he anxiously waved to the crowd, "I'm a sixth year and yeah. We're gonna start off with the other two chasers, so anyone hoping to snag one of those spots stay here. Anyone else go to the stands and wait please. If you leave you won't know when we need you for tryouts! And support is essential to a good team, even if that sounds cheesy."

I realized I'd been rambling so I mounted my broom and hovered about the ground. "So, if you've never done this before, this big ball that Ben is holding is the Quaffle. A chaser's job is to take that and put it in one of those hoops up there. Simple as that. Watch me." I turned to the stands, finding our keeper from laster year and nodding to him so that he could spot me. I flew to him and tossed the Quaffle, sinking it into the hoop. Probably because the keeper didn't try to block it for the sake of my ego. Good for him.

A fourth year girl with dark hair smiled up at me as I flew down, I'd seen her around and she was pretty great for the cancer that was the fourth year class. I think her name's Anela Rei? She seems sweet.

"Okay. Who wants to go first? You get three attempts against our keeper from last year, Jamie." I said, lowkey trying to be ominous. I heard a dun dun dun, but it was probably in my head. Oh well.
