Dear Sleep Paralysis,

I felt it last night.
That was you, wasn't it?
They were your slender fingers
Wrapped around my tan neck
They were so bitterly cold and so slick.
I felt your small hand wrap around the front of my neck as your second hand quickly proceeded to my left side.
Your third to my right
Your fourth to the back.
I felt your tighten them all so quickly.
You felt me as I squirmed awake from my sleep.
I kept telling myself I wasn't scared of you anymore for countless years
But I was wrong.
I screamed and screamed
But I couldn't.
My screams wouldn't flow
I fell back into your hands.
You had me shaking
You held me so tight last night.
I'm sorry I couldn't help you back then

Sincerely,
The boy who never sleeps
