"NOONA!" My best friend Jeongin shouted in my ear, waking me up instantly.
"GET OUT JEONGIN!" I shouted back at him, as he chuckled at my immediate response.
"I'm leaving in 10 minutes with or without you!" He shouted from the door as he left to go downstairs and eat some of my delicious snacks in the cupboard only he knew I stored them.
"This kid." I said, laughing at my friend as I got up to get dressed.
I ran downstairs as I heard him unlock the front door.
"Finally noona!" He said, I rolled my eyes at him.
"I'm not even your noona." I said to him, he didn't reply as we left my house and got on the bus for the zoo.
"Can I ask, why we want to go to the zoo?" I said to Jeongin as we sat down at the back of the bus.
"I want to see all the new baby elephants!" He said, and I just nodded in response to his answer, he was such a kid a heart even though we were almost adults.
"Did I tell you why elephants have big ears?" He asked me before going on and on about elephants until we arrived at the zoo.
Thank god.
We went through each section, the North America section, Europe. Australia, South America, Arctic and then we got to Asia/Africa where the elephants were.
Why we left them till last, no one will know. Actually, I know, because Jeongin is obsessed.
He even took selfies with them.
"Yah, are you ditching me for some primitive mammals?" I asked him.
"As if they're primitive, and in actual fact yes; these mammals are better than our friendship." He asked, taking more and more pictures.
To be honest, I really was wondering why I was friends with such a silly guy.
"(Y/n), just come here." He said, pulling me into a side hug as someone took a picture for us with the elephants.
At least he remembered me.
We left the zoo as they were closing and all I heard all the way back home was 'ELEPHANTS', 'ELEPHANTS' and more 'ELEPHANTS'.
"Will you stop going on about elephants?!" I said to Jeongin, slightly annoyed because he just wouldn't shut up.
"Is someone jealous?" He asked, I rolled my eyes not answering him.
"I'll take the silence as a yes." He said, I got off the bus and entered my house, leaving the door slightly open for if he wanted to come in.
"Elephants are just as cute as you are (Y/n)." Jeongin said, running over and hugging me.
"You know, elephants are wise and they taught me something today..." Jeongin said, looking at me. He was being serious for once, it was weird.
"What?" I asked, a bit curious.
"That I am in love with my best friend." He said, confidently as I blushed beetroot red.
"Your ears are bright red, almost as prominent as an elephant's." He said, I chuckled and he smiled at me.
He continued to stare at me as I processed what he said.
"So you like me?" I asked Jeongin, he nodded.
"Since when?" I asked, a little skeptical.
"16th May 2006." He said, giving me a very accurate description.
"How did you-?" I asked, remembering we first met when we were 5, but didn't know the exact date.
"An elephant never forgets." He said, and now I understood his fascination for the creatures.
