(Jihoon's p.o.v)

School hours were over and so the job hunting had begun.
Woojin and I walked down the streets that's near the school as a start.
"What job are you even aiming for?" He asked.
"Well,I didn't exactly think that far ahead..."
I nervously scratched the back of my neck.
Woojin face palmed and looked deep in thought.

We walked in to several stores, cafes and restaurants but none were looking for employees.
In fact,I was apparently "too young" to work there or I lacked experience and wouldn't understand the job.

The hope was slowly fading away and I sat down on a swing in a random park we came across.
"I'm giving up Woojin." I sighed.
"I can always help you buy an apartment Jihoon, that's what friends are for." He stated.
I rapidly shook my head as a "no".
"No,I want to earn it by myself.
I want to be able to rely on myself.
I'm tired of feeling useless." I whispered the last part as I reminisced every moment where I couldn't defend myself because I was weak.
"I know but sometimes it's okay to rely and get help from others.
I'll let you help yourself but never pressure yourself too much and ask me for help if you need it.
Make sure to not overwork yourself then I'm fine with it."
He advised me before he sat down on the swing beside me.

We both swung back and forth listening to the birds chirp.
I saw some kids playing together at the playground with their parents.
It reminded me of my childhood, they always used to encourage me to do what I aimed for and help me along the way.
Now that time is gone and I'm almost an adult,I should be able to find a job.
I'm gonna find a job,just for them,especially my mom.
I want to be independent but also escape from the torture at home.

With that in mind I abruptly stood up,startling Woojin.
"Oh god,you scared the wits out of me!!"
Woojin placed his hand on his chest where the heart is located.

We wandered down the street where the cat cafe is located at.
"Isn't that the cat cafe?" Woojin asked out of the blue.
"Yeah, obviously." I rolled my eyes at my friends stupidity.
"Can't you see what I'm implying?"
I shook my head and continued to walk down the street.
Suddenly a hand grabbed my shoulder and prevented me from walking any further.
"Woah, woah, woah, where do you think you're going?"
It was Woojin who looked at me weirdly.
"Down the street,duh." I stated.
"No,we're going in here!"
He grabbed both my shoulders and turned me towards the cat cafe's entrance.

It was at that moment I realized what Woojin has been trying to say.
I internally face palmed and slapped my forehead.
Of course that's what he meant, how could I be so dumb,I thought to myself.
Woojin snickered as he looked at me.
"Did you finally get my point,Hoonie?" He low key teased me for being a bit too dense.
"I told you to not call me "Hoonie" and yes I did." I answered.

Woojin and I walked in and I directly walked up to one of the employees.
"Oh hi! How can I help you sir?" The employee asked.
"Um,are you perhaps in need of a new employee?" I nervously asked.
"Yes,yes, yes, the boss is in the staff lounge over there. Just follow me,okay?"
A big grin appeared on my face as I entered the staff lounge, this is going quite well so far!

The employee stopped walking and pointed at a middle aged man who sat on the couch, going through a bunch of paperworks.
I nervously cleared my throat since I was left alone with the boss.
"Hello,do you need anything, young man?" He kindly asked.
"I heard from one of the employees that you were looking for one more?"
That came out as a question. Good job Jihoon!
"Yes,that's correct. Are you maybe interested in working here?"
I vigorously nodded my head while smiling widely.
He chuckled and handed me what looks like a contract.
"Just read through this and then sign over here, after that you're free to start working tomorrow after school. I assume that you're still a student, right?" He said.
"That's right sir." I answered while signing the paper.
"You can call me Mr.Jeong,..Jihoon,right?"
"Well,that's me!"

Mr.Jeong went through the basics of being an employee at cafe Cat Paw.
The name is so hideous.
How am I supposed to mention it when I'm greeting customers?
I silently laughed to myself just at the thought of it.
"Hey,what are you laughing at?"
It was Woojin,I had probably laughed while walking back to him.
The guy who's now sipping on an iced frappuccino rather loudly.
"Nothing but I have good news!"
He stopped sipping and stared back at me in anticipation.
"I got the job!!" I screeched as I jumped in joy.
I received a high five and a pat on the back from no other than Woojin.
"Good job man,I'm proud of you.
Let's go back home,it's getting late and we still have school tomorrow." He smiled showing his snaggletooth like he always does.

With that being said,we headed off to our respective houses and parted ways near a convenience store.
"Goodbye Woojin!"
"Bye Jihoon and again congratulations!
See ya tomorrow." Woojin waved.
He began to walk off and eventually his figure was out of sight.
I too continued to walk home to my house, smiling in delight.
