The sky had turned a dark green late that afternoon. It was around 6:30pm when large blocks of solid ice came crashing down to the earth below the dark and heavy clouds above the Slender Mansion.
Jeff, Nat, Masky and Hoodie, Liu, EJ, LJ, and Slender were all seated in the lounge room.
Jeff and Nat sat side by side in the middle of the dark red sofa. Slender sat on his old comfortable armchair on the left side of the long red sofa, he was the closest to the window. EJ and LJ sat on either side of Jeff and Nat (LJ beside Nat and EJ beside Jeff), Masky and Hoodie sat side by side in front of the sofa, in front of Nat and Jeff, and finally, Liu lay on the ground beside the couch, opposite Slender, closest to LJ.
LJ kept reaching his long extendable arms down and fluffing up Liu's hair. Liu would growl and tell LJ to stop, LJ would apologise, and then just do it again anyway.
Masky and Hoodie's eyes were glued to the TV, they were all watching a movie called The Grim Reaper (made in 2007). It was clearly very interesting.
Jeff and Nat were watching, but not really concentrating. The only thing they could seem to think about, was how uncomfortably close they were.
Every now and then, a loud bang would be heard as a large bolder-of-an-ice-block would hit the ceiling and catch Slender's attention quite easily.
Every time Slender moved, the Creeps moved. Slender didn't mind, it just went to show how much the Creeps relied on and trusted Slender. In fact, it made him feel more... fatherly.
After a while, an add came on. Everyone groaned and sighed. They hated the adds. "I'm about to break this fucking machine." LJ glowered angrily
The others all stated at LJ in slight shock. It was extremely rare to see LJ in any kind of dim mood.
Slender chuckled a little. "Yes, it is quite ridiculous."
"Since when does it snow here? Let alone hail..." EJ pointed out
"It's never hailed OR snowed here, since the night I moved here." Jeff stated. "And that was... almost 10 or 11 years ago."
"Not exactly. I found you when you were just nearing your 15th birthday. So it was actually only 9 years ago." Slender confirmed.
"Well how does that happen?" Liu furrowed his brows. "Jeff, what're you counting from, 13 or 14?"
Jeff paused. "... I'm so confused right now."
"Well, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, and you're currently 23 turning 24 in August. So that's almost 12 years." Liu tried
"Not quite. Because Jeffrey was not insane in the slightest on his 13th birthday. He was almost 14 on the night he was sent home from hospital." Slender continued. "So Jeffrey was indeed, correct."
"Why are we talking about this...?" Jeff muttered, shifting uncomfortably. He didn't like discussing his past.
"Forgive the intrusion Jeffrey." Slender apologised.
The show came back on, but Jeff wasn't feeling it anymore. He felt uneasy and sick, his throat had gone tight and he was finding it hard to breathe.
Slender felt a wave of distress flowing from Jeff, but decided to see how Nat would've handled it.
If you're still confused, and you still believe Nat isn't important enough to be bound to Jeff, well hear me out...
Nat took Jane's side. So now, because Nat has Jane's back and believes Jane is fully and completely innocent... it's Jeff and Nat who fight the most.
If you read back to the part in this story where Nat gets a death stare as soon as she enters Slender's study, I actually tried to hint at it there... but not enough to give anything away.
Slender sent a telepathic nudge to Nat, disabling her to know it was actually Slender that made her realize how upset and tense Jeff had become over the mentioning of his past.
Nat furrowed her brows, feeling slight remorse for him. Yet, although Nat wasn't fond of Jeff, she decided it'd be best to do something about it... for both their sakes.
"Um, Jeff...?" Nat whispered, leaning over and whispering in his ear.
Jeff's ear twitched as her voice flowed through, and all he responded with was a mere nod.
"Wanna bail...?" she offered, gesturing to go get some air.
Jeff didn't hesitate as he got up and made his way out of the lounge room faster than he'd ever moved before.
Nat was being dragged along behind him as he floored it up the first two flights of stairs.
He ran to the third floor, by the door of his room. "Is it alright if we slept in my room...?"
Nat nodded.
"... Um, and how about sleeping on a foam mattress beside by bed?" Jeff went quiet
Nat shrugged casually. "It's whatever."
Jeff nodded. "Good. I'm fucked."
"Fucked...?" Nat cocked a brow.
"Yeah, as in, I'm tired." Jeff rolled his eyes and led her into his freezing cold air conditioned room.
Nat shivered. "W- Wow, its freezing in here."
"It's only 3 degrees." Jeff shrugged casually, shutting the door behind Nat and pulling out a 7cm thick foam mattress from under his bed. He did all this in the dark of course.
He grabbed Nat's arm and tossed her down onto the mattress. She looked back up at the dark figure before her and smirked. "Meow sugar... getting a bit rough there..." Nat teased
Jeff rolled his eyes and ignored her statement. He crawled into his bed and faced the opposite way, gazing out the window at all the hail and gentle flakes of snow that were now drizzling from the clouds.
The black curtains that merely covered his windows were torn, as though it'd been attacked by a wolf pack or something.
Eventually Jeff fell asleep, and Nat didn't make a single sound the entire time... so it was safe to say Jeff didn't mind her there.
The last person that slept in Jeff's room would snore, move constantly, moan and make weird sex noises, and roll. Roll, and roll, and roll, and roll... and roll.
Jeff utterly hated it, because he's usually a really light sleeper. He has to be. Sometimes, when he's out on his killing sprees, he gets so carried away that he ends up going walkabout. He gets really far from the Mansion, so he sleeps at the house which belonged to the last victim. For only a night. But if police arrive or something gets too close to him, he has to hear it so he can make a quick escape.
So even though Jeff's body was asleep, his mind was still wide awake. Most of the time anyway.
