The four bodyguards that had arrived with Winry were the same as you. Human chimeras. The only difference was that they had been part of the military before, and, despite having chosen to undergo the experiment themselves too, were regretting their new bodies.
You didn't. These new abilities didn't change what kind of person you were, and they helped you to save Isa, so you couldn't complain. Still, talking to the men was interesting, as they had undergone the same experience as you. And you had plenty of time to talk during the car ride to Baschool, where you would search for Scar and Dr. Marcoh.
It took some time for them to open up to you, but once it was clear that all four of you were human chimeras, you even started to build up a friendship.
Far too soon, you arrived at the old, abandoned mining town Baschool and exited the vehicle.
You made your way over to Kimblee. He had taken the same car as Miles, and even without any words being said, you could tell that something happened between the two of them, they seemed to hate each other even more than usual. Both had their backs turned to the other and a very unpleasant expression on their faces. Understandable, since they had completely different ideals, but still, you were curious.
"Commence the search", Miles ordered, the Elric brothers, the people of Briggs and the four chimeras began to split up in pre-arranged teams. You, on Kimblee's orders, were going to search by yourself, because no mam could match your speed. In need of a place to transform, you claimed one of the cars for yourself. Once ready, you set out.

It hadn't been hard for you to find them, especially since the Elric Brothers, two of the chimera body guards, Miles and other Briggs soldiers were all gathered in one place, making it easy for you to trace their scent. A disadvantage of the amount of people there was that it was impossible for you to fight them all.
It didn't take you long to figure out that they were not on Kimblee's side. You chose to stay hidden and just listen to their conversation.
Like this, you found out a lot of information. That something very bad was about to happen to this land, that the army was behind it, as well as their plan to deceive Kimblee. You had to admit that it was a good one, using Winry as bait, having her be 'kidnapped' by Scar, they could easily flee through the tunnels and seek shelter in Fort Briggs.
But all this new knowledge placed you in a difficult situation. What were you going to do? These people were obviously trying to save Amestris from some sort of disaster, so the 'right' decision would be to join them or keep quiet, so their plan would succeed. On the other hand, Kimblee was the one with whom your loyalty should lay, so telling him what you had found out and where Scar was going, was the 'right' decision too.
And you had to figure out, which one was 'right' for you.

Still in your chimera form, you watched Ed's, Scar's and Winry's performance, and observed Kimblee's reaction. Did he buy it? You couldn't tell.
You still hadn't decided what you were going to do, but you were running out of time. Both the approaching snow storm and your expected presence and report were depriving you of precious moments to ponder.
But before you could turn round, Scar and Winry were gone, and the soldiers were seeking shelter in one of the abandoned houses. Quickly you sprinted back to the car to transform back and get dressed.
You hadn't thought about the cold. The few moments you were naked robbed you of too much energy, and even when you had managed to put on your clothes again, you were shivering uncontrollably. The worst thing, however, was that by now, the snow storm had commenced.
Somehow, you managed to drag your freezing body to the house used as shelter, and slumped against the door. When it opened, the soldiers gasped on recognizing you, and dragged you inside.
The people of Briggs were really something else, you had to note. Within seconds, you were wrapped in a warm blanket and handed a warm coffee. Little by little, you regained your energy. But you still hadn't decided.
You watched Kimblee. He was standing in the middle of the room, slightly leaning against the table, and was watching the snow storm bluster. He was thinking.
While observing him, you suddenly caught yourself wanting to lean into him and hide your face in his chest. You didn't know where it came from, but when you realized what kind of scenario you were imagining, you were so shocked that you nearly let the mug of coffee fall to the ground.
Just what the hell was wrong with you? Kimblee was not the kind of person one would want to get close to at all!
You placed the mug on the floor to bury your face in your hands.
'Think of something else, (y/n)', you told yourself. 'Think of Isa!'
The image of your little sister made you feel warm inside again.
And then you finally took the decision. It was the army that was saving her, taking the side of their enemies wouldn't be wise at all. And as soon as she was fully healed, you would just run away and leave this cursed country behind.
You were going to tell Kimblee.
