First, I get a glimpse of your face and do not get much of an impression.
Second, we text. You're not really that good at answering.
Third, we get to know each other better. You answer messages more often.
Fourth, I trust you with the skeletons in my closet.
Fifth, I get a smile on my face every time I hear that tone on my phone.
Sixth, I tell myself I'm not falling.
Seventh, I realize I already hit the ground.
Eight, you let me know you aren't even tripping for me.
Ninth, you ask me why I'm bleeding.
Tenth, I proceed to explain.

It's because I took a knife and tried to cut you out of my brain and carved somebody else's name to replace yours.

But somehow that other name fades away immediately without leaving a scar and your name, even though I cut it out, your name...

It's still carved in the side of my brain and time seems to be paralyzed because I don't know how long it's been but I'm still bleeding.
