Dont Shine on me
Burn to live another day
Break free while you can
So I don't dim your light
Its better that way
Believe me
So your glow can survive

While dreaming of the stars
I had rather be alone
Thats the best that I can do
Breaking chains off of you
Unlocking cages
Winds blowing you out to sea
I'm finally letting you go...
Free.

3am...alone
Treynum discovered the hard way that just the sheer acts of being  booked and locked up were enough to send someone spiraling into oblivion.
He could see the things that were happening to him.  He could taste the bitter acid of defeat. Hear things that he didn't want to hear . But mostly he could feel.....
Strip searched, forced to undress , orange jumper, mug shot (Don't Smile!!), shower, man bun, angry faces with angry words,  6 feet by 6 foot cell, cold cement floor, iron bars, a cot with no covers, isolation and solitude.
It was in the semi dark, sitting on the sorry excuse for a bed that Trey allowed himself the luxury of finally crying.  Not your basic,' I'm sad and grieving', kind of sobbing, but a soul wrenching bottomless heartbroken cry that pierced the nights shadows.
Spider was dead. Forever dead!
No more crooked jacked up teeth smile. No screw ups to get him locked up again.  The stench of a man who just didn't give a Damn, would forever be engraved in his memory. Nowhere else but there.
Spider had been the closest thing to family that he had left.
'And he was convinced that this was how it should be'. There was no way in hell that Trey  deserved  anything better. He didn't dare feel sorry for himself. Not when Spider was lying dead on a cold slab somewhere. Not when he was the one who had 'pulled the trigger.' He had chosen some no name bastards life over his best friends. There would never be enough suffering, or pain to equal what Trey deserved. At least that was what he whole heartedly believed.

NOTE FROM AUTHOR:
By the way
I just want to add that I know that my depiction as far as real law and of the crime are not accurate. The details I wrote are for entertainment only.  This is a work of fiction. So just pretend ...
