November 22nd ~ 9:53 pm

Jackie stood at the steps leading up to Air Force One as the agents and doctors carried her husband's bed onto the plane with all of the monitors still beeping along.

The press were silent but the flashes of their cameras were enough to make you think the sun hadn't set.

"Mrs. Kennedy?" Clint spoke quietly next to her.

"Yes?"

"You can go up now. They're settling the President in the back cabin."

Jackie nodded and climbed the steps behind the Johnsons. When they went to the front of the plane to discuss Lyndon becoming President while Jack was in the coma; Jackie went straight to the back room and locked the door.

"Oh Jack..." She murmured as she smoothed his hair. "If you come back to me...I'll do anything. If you said you wanted a divorce I'd do it. Just please don't die on me. Please...I can't handle that."

For the first time since the motorcade Jackie saw her reflection in the mirror. The beautiful suit that Jack had loved so much was full of his blood. Her gloves were caked with blood and she couldn't get them off herself.

She lowered herself onto the bed that just hours before she'd made love to Jack on and cried. Her sobs were audible to everyone on the plane yet no one came to comfort her. They all knew only one person could do that. And he was trapped in that coma.
