I always have dreams about Corey and it sucks because none of it is real. Anyways, I jump out of bed and throw in some basketball shorts, might as well get some things off my mind. I head to the basketball quart on 4th Street, it's crazy because I haven't been here since school ended. Shooting hoops relaxes me in a way I can't quite describe, nothing like the way Corey does. I know that for sure. I have to meet the guys later today but Corey also wants to talk to me. God, I can't stop thinking about how gorgeous she is. I haven't seen her all summer and she suddenly hit me up yesterday making plans. I have a lot I want to say and I think this time is it. I'm telling her.
~Later~
"Hey, before you say anything, I know it's been awhile since we've hung out and I'm sorry for always blowing you off" , she stumbled over her words which was never normal for her.
"Corey, I love you. Not just as a friend but I want something more. I don't know if you feel the same but please hear me out!" She looked shocked, I don't know if I just ruined our friendship but it needed to be said. It took her a few minutes to gather her thoughts. I was wondering what she had on her mind. Did I go too far? I hope not. I need her.
"St-stein, I honestly don't know what to say. I mean I love you as a friend but never mind. We'll talk about that later. What I've wanted to say is I'm moving away, by myself. You can come if you want." By the look in her face, I knew. I know she wants me to tag along, but should I really? I had to think, of course I couldn't let her leave town, especially on her own. She really is worth everything. Worth the college scholarships I'd be losing once I leave town. Worth the friendships I've made the past few years. Worth the job offer I just got. Definitely worth everything I could ever imagine.
We both went home and packed that same night. We planned to meet each other by the Jade Crossing, I just hope she sticks with me.
I turned off my light and rolled over in bed. I had a million things on my mind. I don't know if I'll get enough rest tonight. She crossed my mind once again. Her beautiful face, her plump lips and her smooth and tender voice, remembering it warmed my body. I fell asleep, daydreaming of what life would be like if we fell in love.
