Old Habits Die Hard (Riverdale)

When I woke up the sun was blaring through the window into my eyes.  Rolling over I pulled Archie's arm off of me and groaned. I looked at my phone and it was only 6:30, school started at 8. Archie rolled over and mumbled something i couldn't understand.

"I'll see you at school later" I whispered as I put my clothes on and kissed his forehead. Quietly, I made my way downstairs and did the walk of shame to my house. Everyone was asleep when I got there so I took a shower and got ready for school. Deciding I liked my old look better I put on my black shorts and a grey t-shirt. Finishing the outfit with black converse, Stanley finally got ready and we headed to school.  When I got there I searched for Toni and told her everything that happened last night.  She told me that the best thing to do was wait until Jughead came to talk to me but I didn't know if I could do it.

"Oh boy" Toni said looking at the ground. "Here comes Betty looking particularly angry so i'm just gonna walk away" Toni said fast walking toward her class.

"Wait T-" I said as Betty reached me.

"We need to talk. Privately" She hissed at me and pulled me to the bathroom.

"What??" I said pulling my hand out of her grasp and the bell rang.  "Now i'm late"

She stood there starring at me with fury in her eyes. I was scared as to what was going to happen next.

"What are you doing??? With Archie? You know he's with Veronica and I thought we made a pact about me-" She started rambling and breathing heavy but i cut her off.

"Archie told me specifically that he was NOT with Roni.  Don't blame me for that. Anyway, our little "pact" about you and Archie ended when you started sticking your tongue down Jugheads throat." I said angrily.  "Are you dating him or not bc you can't get jealous-"

"WERE NOT" She yelled at me. "He ended everything last night.  He told me his feelings for me were meant to only be as friends. But I felt it, there's someone else" She said quieting her voice and leaning against the stall.

"Betty are you upset about Jughead or Archie. You can't have both" I sighed.

"I-I wish it was Jughead.. I care so much about him but I think deep down I knew we could only be friends. When I saw you with Archie I just felt so upset" Betty sighed and put her hands over her face.

"Betty I love Archie.. but as a good friend I think.  He knows how I feel and last night was just a bad decision we made in a heated moment. It won't happen again.  I have feelings for someone else." I said leaning against the stall and looking at my feet.  Betty pulled her hands away from her face slowly realizing who I meant.  Her mouth opened in realization.

"You're the someone.... You're who Jughead is in love with?" She asked surprisingly not angry.

"In love with??" I said confused.

"Assumingely.. but.. thank god.  I'd rather it be you than anyone else " She said in relief.  I looked at her shocked.

"Wait really?  You're okay with this?" I said eyes wide.

"I'd rather you go be with Jughead if it makes your happy then see you sleep with Archie because you're confused" She said embracing me in a hug.  "Go be with him."

I smiled and now felt so much better. Although it kind of felt like a dream with how accepting Betty was with this. I had just told her I like the boy she was basically dating and that I slept with her long time childhood crush. In my defense he was also my childhood crush but I just pretended he wasn't.

"I'm sorry B" I sighed. "I'm so sorry"

"I will always forgive you as long as you return the favor" She smiled "Let's get to class"
