Green eyes burned into Laina's skin, as her mind ran over and over his words and the way his deep voice caused her stomach to flip itself inside out.

"Pleasure's all mine sunshine."

No one seemed to notice Eden's interest in Laina as conversation quickly escalated. She kept her eyes on Miles and Hallie as they both joked around loudly; clearly both drunk. With Laina's eyes on them and Eden's eyes on Laina majority of the time, Miles and Hallie asked the two if they wanted more to drink.

Eden had a half full beer bottle in his hand but accepted the offer anyway. Laina decided she needed something to distract her tonight and gave into their offer.

"I'll go get 'em!" Miles announced, "Come along and give a guy a hand mate!" He hit the back of his hand against Eden's chest in a friendly manner.

Eden tore his eyes away from Laina and walked with Miles to get the drinks.

"Eden is hot" Hallie stated nonchalantly.

Laina giggled a little, her eyes set downcast before she lifted her gaze to her beautiful friend. "I'm almost certain you say that about every guy."

"Only the ones I want to have fun with." She winked stumbling a little due to her intoxicated state.

"You have enough guys your having fun with, do you really need another one to add to the list?" Laina asked, there was no judgement in her tone, for she knew that although Hallie's life involving guys was very colourful, it was also discreet and done with correct intentions.

"Eh, I guess you're right." She shrugged. "That reminds me though," she pointed a finger towards Laina, not necessarily in an accusing manner, "I saw Xavier inside. Why the fuck is he here?"

Laina instantly felt sick at the mention of Xavier. "His Dad works for my parents, thus his attendance." She motioned around with her hands, adding more definition to her words.

"I hate him." Hallie declared.

"You and me too."

"I don't understand how you could let him in your house. I would've told my parents to lock him the fuck out."

"I would, but his father is a key role in my parents business and I'd hate to ruin anything good for them."

"Yes but, don't you think they'd fire his father right away if they knew what Xavier did to you and then just find a new employee?"

"I'm not sure really." Laina knew her parents would be up in flames if they knew what had happened between Xavier and herself, but she didn't have the guts to tell them. She felt ashamed that she had even let him into her life.

"Laina, don't be a fucking idiot." Hallie said firmly, closing her eyes, in what looked like pain, while tilting her head back slightly.

"Why's Laina an idiot?" Miles' voice interrupted.

"Because she just is." Hallie stated, as if it was just general knowledge.

Miles shrugged his shoulders as a humorous look creeped up on his face that said he agreed with Hallie.

"I hate you both."

"No you don't, you just wish you did."

"Miles, that hardly even makes sense."

"Oh well, party pooper."

Laina rolled her eyes at him before they locked with Eden's gleaming ones.

The bright green irises rose all the hairs on her arms and she felt trapped. However, it wasn't a bad feeling, it was almost intriguing.

He smiled slightly at her, it was almost a smirk, before raising the glass of champagne he had held in his hand. "You wanted another drink?"
