You woke in the morning and phoned Fionna.

F- Hello?

You- Hi.

F- what's up?

You- oh nothing. Just got a date for tonight.

F- Really?! with who?

You- Ummmmm, Marshall Lee...

Fionna went silent. You could hear her talking in the background. Suddenly, the phone dropped on the other end and you heard someone scrambling to pick it up. Suddenly, Cake roared in your ear.

C- Uh uh baby, Marshall is bad news! I suggest you don't even show up cuz he is a cruel selfi- Hey!

Fionna grabbed the phone back from Cake.

F- don't listen to Cake. Go if you want, but just be careful...

You- okay... bye.

F- bye.

You were glad you had friends like Fionna and Cake. they treated you like a sister. A knock at the door shocked you. you opened it to see... Fionna? She got over here fast. You lived pretty close to her.

"Hey! I got over here as fast as I could!" Fionna said, entering the house with her hands full of ribbons, and flowers. Cake poked her head out of her hat and stretched out on to the floor.

"Um, what's all this stuff for?" you ask, slightly confused.

"For your date sweetie!" Cake said, pulling a sewing machine, a pair of scissors and several lengths of (color) silk out of Fionna's backpack.

Cake did your measurements, then cut out pieces of fabric and started to sew, quietly singing a song.

"I got a hot tomato! and I got two hot potatoes!'

You giggled and Fionna took off your black beanie and brushed out your hair, styling it in curls adorned with flowers.

"Here baby! Try it on for size!" cake said, shoving a (color) short dress with no straps and a skirt that was long in the back and short on the front. You put it on, super excited.

"You look beautiful!" Fionna and Cake say excitedly in sync.

Fionna tied a ribbon around your waist. You smiled, staring at yourself in the mirror. Cake looked at the clock on the wall.

"You better get going! Its nine!" Cake yelled. You slip on a pair of Doc's and run out the door.

You run through the woods, a brisk wind blowing across your cheeks. Suddenly, you see a light coming from a clearing in the woods. You walk through and see Marshall, sitting at a table with a white tablecloth over it.

"Hi." You say shyly.

"Hey! You hungry?" Marshall asks.

"Um, yeah! I haven't eaten all day!" You remark, hearing your stomach growl. Marshall laughs and pulls out a chair. you sit, smoothing the wrinkles in your dress. Marshall sits opposite to you, grabbing your plate and putting a slice of pizza on it. He hands it back and you take a huge, unladylike, bite.

The pizza was amazing. The thin crust cracked and the goopy cheese was delicious. You scarfed it all down, asking for another piece.

"Sure. There's lots if food." Marshall replied, sucking the red from some cherries.

You started with some small talk, after finishing your fourth piece of pizza.

"Sooo, how long have you lived in Aaa?" You ask.

"Um, quite a while... probably 900 years-ish. I kinda lost track." Marshall said, leaning against the table. "Okay, how long have you been here?"

"Probably twenty years, I lived in the woods for a long time..." you trailed off.

"Well then, I should probably call you forest-chick or deer-face." Marshall said snickering.

You felt a little hurt. Marshall was laughing at the fact that you had no place to call your own for over half your life. You felt a fat year drip down your face.

"I, uh, have to go." You stutter, feeling a lot of tears coming.

"(Your name)! Wait!" You hear Marshall call as you run through the woods. You catch your dress on a branch, ripping away at it. You collapse in sadness and disappointment, leaning on a rock and sobbing quietly into your hands. Once you open your eyes again, you see Marshall, his back to you. He also has his head in his hands.

"Why am I so stupid!? I find the one I'm in love with and I lose her! It's just like Fionna all over again..."

Slowly, you stand, shaking a little. Walking over to Marshall Lee is nerve wracking. You take the time in between these slow steps to look at him. He's dressed nice. A white dress shirt with sleeves rolled up to his elbows. Black skinny jeans. Red converse. His red eyes as he turns and sees you standing behind him. He stands and looks at you, a tear streaming down his cheek. He's pale, very pale. You take one step closer, and he stands too, looking into your eyes. Before you know what's happening, Marshall slowly grabs your waist, pulling you closer. Then, you feel his face so close to yours. You close your eyes and lean into him. And finally, after what seems like hours,

Your lips touch.

And you seem to be in some kind of dream, as he holds you there, and you separate. You look up at him with glittering eyes. And he smiles.
