**please don't pass snarky comments as you read the chapter because the characters in the book talk like how we have most of the people around us. I know it's sad but people in real life are like that. So the characters go up and down between being real and being 2D**

ELVIS POV

The mirthful ride to school on the Monday morning became aggravating when Jace shared his ride with me since I was stuck to live with him. His questions about where I vanished to after the party on Friday night and where I was on Sunday when I was supposed to spend it with him and Grayson doing some bike riding activities and other stuff but..

"So are you sure you are not hiding any mystery girl from us?"

His questions were less of William Sherlock Scott Holmes but more like the crossed lady from neighbourhood who wants to keep an eye on the happenings around.

Friday night after dropping Skylynn who managed to injure her foot but who looked soft and fragile when in my arms, I went to take a ride to the suburban side. I might have thought about the things happening on the active front but my mind drifted to how funny and perky Skylynn was. She looked impressive and striking in her outfit, something I would never see her in the school. Her wide set glassy eyes turned blinking when her phone buzzed but I couldn't draw any emotion.

I wasn't dismal.

"You're lost again! What the heck Elvis? I need the name if there is any!" Shouted Jace, bringing me out of my dreams.

"Calm down joker. I'm more into my tests today than your vexed lady beneath."

"Are you sure you're not into the lady?" His voice mocking a seductive girl.

"Well, depends if you get me some broses" I said beginning the bromance.

"Oh man! You just read my mind. I got some daffodudes for you."

And we burst into laughter.

"But I'm telling you Mr. Ferry is killing us today."

"Well talk about yourself."

"What do you even mean by that?"

I removed my eyes from road to look at him and gave him the smirk. He should decipher the cryptic code.

"Did you do it? All alone? Don't tell me that's what you were doing on Sunday? You mean cheater liar!!"

"Calm down dude! Stop shouting at me like the lady I never called after that night and take out my notebook and complete it."

My mind went back to yesterday evening when Skylynn helped me do my work. I was checking up on her if she was fine but I realised I wouldn't wanna do riding today but homework instead. So there she was. It was fun. She was daunting but tantalising. We had a good time talking about stuff and happenings but not for once did any of us overstep to delve into the others' life.

This was different than usual for me.

"From heaven to earth.. get your ass back here boy!" Jace was the woman on her period today.

We reached school in a drive five minutes more and classes began.

My eyes drifted to the locker on the opposite row.

"So where the hell were you yesterday?" Not you Grayson.

"Forget it. But you would wanna know what happened yesterday. Jace and I took a stop at the...." and he went on telling me how they encountered some girls and Jace couldn't do anything with any of them because he's bound to some uncommitted commitments. So Gray had to handle all of it by himself. Ever the boy. Play.
