Looking at Jace gave an idea that it didn't go too well inside. My instinct was to look at Jace's cheek, checking for any finger marks.
Yea it was funny.
Seconds later Winter came out of the room, her head held high and coming straight to her best friend and fetching her off from us. She gave one last look to Jace before storming off.
I looked at Sky who was looking at me too.
And I knew we will have a conversation later.
"So what happened?"
*_*_*_*_*_
The school got over and I might have been a little late to reach the parking area because I didn't spot Sky's car there. I thought we would talk but then again, there were no word exchanges and she might have left for home.
I thought about ringing her but somehow I didn't.
I drove to Blue Bottle instead and a grin hit my face when I spotted Sky there.
She was here. I was here.
But there was no word exchange earlier.
Stop thinking too much.
She hadn't seen me yet since she was busy on phone, sitting at my usual table sipping some drink so I first went to place my order for the coffee and I might have spoken a little bit louder. Intentionally.
When I turned around after taking my coffee from the counter, she was looking at me and she stood. I walked the distance to her table.
"Hello.!"
"Hey Elf!"
"I see someone's taking all my places."
"Hunh?"
"My parking zone, my coffee table. What next are you stealing girl?" I said with Goofy grin and a little smirk.
"That's how you see it. I was taught sharing."
"But I keep my things only mine."
And thats when she took my coffee and sipped it in.
My eyes were wide open, not believing this girl sitting in front of me.
She had her face straight with a smirk and pride. She arched her left brow and that spoke challenge.
"So how are you here?" She asked, ignoring the coffee-exchange of a few seconds ago.
"Shouldn't I be asking you the same? How are you here?"
"You were late for me to see you in the parking lot and then I didn't save your number the other day and kind of felt that I would see you here, so yea.!"
"So you're even tracking me now hunh?"
"Get your head off the clouds, bighead."
"Well that's not the only thing big I got."
"Yea..I spot a big mouth there too." She said easily.
This girl was a challenge. Fighting me off. I couldn't help but shake my head and smile.
"So what did Winter say?"
"Well she believes he's lying and making this up and that he's not even interested in her and not to forget he's a cheater. Kinda"
"Hey hey hey!! You don't get to call my friend all of that. And why won't you girls believe us when we say something. Why play all this hard to get and the stupid little games around?"
"Are you seriously wanting to have a discussion over this now? Well it's because when most of you say how you feel, it's not what you show us with your actions. Winter might forgive Jace right now but then how is she assured that this would not happen again. It is better to have her heart heal form the first heartbreak than to let her heart take another one. From the same person. That's how it goes.
"The hard to get game is basically not even a game but it is like we need an assurance and we need to see how much are you willing to work on what you say you want. The thing that lasts doesn't come easy. We want you to try."
I looked at Sky taking in her change of emotions and I could see that whatever she said right now did not only relate to Jace and Winter. There was more. I looked into her eyes, trying to catch hold of something. Something that might let me see in but she looked down. Closed her eyes and breathed in. When she opened them, there were the brown eyes. Emotions hidden.
"What was this about?" I asked keeping my voice soft and little.
"I didn't mean to. I'm sorry if-"
I cut her off- "Don't you feel sorry for how you feel Sky. And not when what you said comes from within you. Because that could never be wrong. And we don't apologise for the right. Right?"
And I passed her a smile. She smiled too.
We drank our coffees in silence.
A little longer we sat to discuss the plan B.
"Okay then. We are getting on it." She said standing up and it was her cue to leave.
One last thing I wanted to ask her after seeing her emotions today.
"Hey Sky!"
She shifted her eyes from the bag she was collecting to me.
I stood up and we were walking off the cafe when I asked-
"Why are we, well you, trying so hard to save this relationship?"
She smiled. A soft, sad smile carrying a story behind it. And I wanted to know. I wanted to read that story.
I thought she wouldn't answer when we reached her car.
"Because some relationships deserve a second chance so bad. Because sometimes the second chances work better than the first, owing to the lessons learnt."

The author is so so so sorry for not uploading for the past three weeks. Ask me how much i missed Elvis and Skylynn. Those little two teach me stuff too. It actually feels good to be able to write them down.
It's just that recently stuff has been down on my front and emotions were likes sucked out of me. Doesn't mean I didn't write. I did. But on a paper with a pen. I hope to share that piece of writing too. Not soon though. 😅
So major emotional revelation in this chapter. Consider the story escalating now on.
Does that excite you??? Coz that gets me so damn excited 😍😍✋🏻
Coming back soon.
Baby please No promises, but hopefully tomorrow 😁Loads of love
