POV: Kankri.

I've been waiting for five minutes now. It has felt like much longer. I'm cold to the bone, and somehow very glad Rufioh offered to pick me up. I've never been to his place before.

I have been to Kurloz' place before. We were grubs, too young to remember. I know I've been there because my dad always talked about how much of an honorit was that Iwas allowed to go on playdates with the future king. I didn't really feel like that was the case. Kurloz and I, we talked about what we wanted to do when we grew up. Kurloz wanted to see the world, be a photographer even. I wanted to go with him at the time. We were young, didn't even know better. Then the Grand HighBlood and my dad got into a fight. I don't remember it very well. We never saw him or Kurloz again.

But then I got introduced to Porrim. She was always busy with fashion. If she wasn't talking about fashion she was talking about this one troll she really liked. It turned out to be me. I didn't really return the feelings, but we stayed friends and she moved on eventually. She used to say that I was a blessing and a curse to her. I still don't know what she implemented.

I was shaken out of my thoughts by Rufioh, who was still in panic mode.

"man 1 thought you froze to death... you okay..."
"Yes, I'm fine. Thanks f9r asking."
We walked to the car, talking about nothing, it was dead silent. He tried making a few jokes but I wasn't there with my mind.

"kankr1... what 1s wrong... you aren't l1sten1ng and 1 know 1t..."
"It's just that... I'll tell y9u when we're at y9ur h9me."

The car drive was very silent after that. Rufioh was driving, but it was very noticeable that he was too tired to drive. The car ride lasted for 20 minutes, and after that, we arrived at his home.
