A Royal disaster

Chapter: Twenty-three

POV: Karkat

As I left the hospital I went immediately back in.
"LATULA WHERE DOES MITUNA LIVE?"
"bro, 1 don't know. 1 thought on th3 sam3 str33t as cronus."
I ran away again, to get to the desired destination in time. I need to speak with Sollux. I also need to speak with Eridan, Cronus' little brother, but I needed Sollux first.

I've never met the guy, but I've talked to him on Tumblr before. He was chill, blew up my computer more than once and I assure you he can actually be funny.

As I near his house, I begin scanning the neighborhood I'm in. It's a nice, suburban neighborhood, with big ass houses. I search for the one that looks like a beehive, sort of, and i ring the doorbell.

I hear mumbling and the door opening slowly.

"Hello? Who are you?"

"I'MINTERNALLY-SCREACHINGFROM TUMBLR."

"Oh hey KK. What are you doiing here?"

"I'M HERE BECAUSE OF YOUR BROTHER."

He throws open the door. He stares at me blankly.

"What happened two him? Latula 2ay2 next to nothiing 2o you have two tell me."

"I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED EXACTLY BUT HE DOESN'T REMEMBER ANYTHING BESIDES LATULA AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP."

"2o, what are you here for then?"

"I HAVE THE SOLUTION TO GET HIS MEMORY BACK."

"2eriiously?! What ii2 iit?"

"LET'S TALK INSIDE."

I explain my plan. Sollux starts digging for videos of him and Mituna. He saves them to a flash drive and he is ready to leave within 5 minutes.

"WAIT SOLLUX! WE HAVE TO VISIT ERIDAN FIRST."

"ED? Why?"

"BECAUSE HIS BROTHER 'BULLIED' TUNA EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, BUT THEY'RE FRIENDS, SORT OF."

So we walk two houses down the street and ring the doorbell.

"AND wwho are you twwo supposed to be?"

"ERIDAN, WE ARE SOLLUX AND KARKAT AND WE'RE HERE BECAUSE OF YOUR BROTHER."

"Wwhat has he done this time?"

I explain what happened and Eridan starts going through a box of old junk. He grabs two video tapes, both labeled. One labeled 'first theme park visit with Tuna!' and the other labeled 'Watching Grease with Tuna!'.

"ARE YOU SURE THESE ARE THE RIGHT ONES?"

"As sure as I knoww a boat floats."

"DO YOU WANT TO COME WITH US?"

"I'm grounded."

"That 2uck2 for you. We'll 2ee you later."

As we leave, we heard Eridan yell for us.

"Wwait up! I forgot to givve you this."

He handed us a scrapbook that looks like Cronus handcrafted it. They contained pictures of Kurloz, Meulin, Cronus and Mituna.

"These are all pictures of a road trip they did together. I hope this helps."

"Thank2 ED."

We left for real now, armed with memory upon memory and went straight to the hospital.

"HELLO TEREZI. WE WOULD LIKE TO VISIT MITUNA CAPTOR. ALSO, ARE YOU DOING FIELD RESEARCH?"

"SUR3 TH1NG 1 DO. YOU KNOW WH3R3 YOU N33D TO B3?"

"YES, AND DON'T TELL YOUR SISTER WE WERE HERE FOR HIM, SHE IS MAD AT ME."

"SUR3 TH1NG K4RK4T."

She handed us two visitor badges and we went onwards to Mituna.

Before entering his room we asked a nurse to stand us by for the worst case scenario. She reluctantly gave in, not really understanding what we meant.

"HELLO MITUNA! WE HAVE BROUGHT SOME STUFF TO HAVE FUN."

"Y4Y! 1 L0V3 H4V1NG FUN!"

I walk to the tv and put the first tape labeled "first theme park visit with Tuna!"

Tuna watched the tv closely. He looked wide eyed at the screen, and just starts laughing.

"1 R3M3M83R 7H1S! 17 W45 FUN H4NG1NG 0UT W17H... UH... W17H..."

"CRONUS."

"Y35. 1 R34LLY L1K3 D01NG 7H47 W17H CR0NU5.

Next up was "Watching Grease with Tuna!"

While watching the video at the screen, Mituna was asking all sorts of questions. Like who they were, what they were doing, what they were watching and how long ago it took place. After a while, Sollux ran out of the room because he couldn't stand it any longer.

"SOLLUX COME BACK! HE NEEDS TO GET HIS MEMORIES OF YOU BACK AS WELL."

"II don't care II can't 2tand thii2 any longer. He doe2n't even greet me."

"HE WILL REMEMBER YOU BUT YOU HAVE TO GIVE IT SOME TIME. I STARTED WITH CRONUS BECAUSE HE HAD AN ALMOST BEST FRIENDSHIP!"

"BUT II'M HI2 BROTHER KK! HE 2HOULD REMEMBER FAMIILY AND GIIRLFRIEND2 FIIR2T!"

"YEAH SO WHAT? I NEED HIM TO HATE CRONUS AGAIN! I KNOW HE HATED HIM!"

"But II loved hiim more than anythiing!"

"K4RK47... 07H3R P3R50N... 7H3 F1LM 15 D0N3. D0 Y0U H4V3 M0R3 7H1NG5 70 W47CH W17H M3?"

"YES MITUNA. WE'LL COME BACK IN."

Sollux walked to the toilets and I went back into the room. I grabbed the stick he had brought with him and I looked for an USB-port in the tv. Luckily, it had one. I plugged it in and started looking for a video that centered around the two brothers. I played it and Mituna started grabbing his head again.

"MISS NURSE THE MINDHONEY!! GRAB THE MINDHONEY!"

The nurse, also panicking, gave Mituna a spoonful of mindhoney. Mituna calmed down instantly. The nurse went back to sitting on a chair.

Sollux came back after a while as well. It was visible he had cried.

"Karkat, II don't want two a2k you thii2 and II'm 2orry in advance, but you'll have two leave."

"WHY DO I HAVE TO LEAVE?"
"Becau2e II thiink you are hurtiing my brother more than he can handle."

"WELL I'LL SEE YOU LATER THEN I GUESS. BYE."
"Bye."
