Rayne's POV
Riker took my hand and led me over to the table and pulled out my chair so I could sit down. "Wait right here while I go get dinner" he said then he leaned over and kissed my cheek. "What would you like to drink? We have water and soda." "Water is fine" I told him. "Is there anything I can do to help with dinner?" "Nope" Riker replied. "I have everything taken care of. But you can take that remote there on the table and press 'Play'."
As I pressed Play, I heard a stereo come on somewhere in the living room. The cottage was filled with soft, classical music. I heard Riker working in the kitchen, so I just sat at the table and enjoyed the sounds of the music and the ocean. After a few minutes, Riker brought our dinner to the table. "I wish I could say that I made this for you, but if I had cooked, this date would probably end in the Emergency Room. And that is not where I want this date to end. So Mom cooked this for us, and Rydel and Ratliff brought this over here and set the cottage up for us. In fact, they were here until right before we got here, making sure that nothing bad happened with the candles or the food until we got here."
"Well I'm glad that I don't have a visit to the ER to look forward tonight." I told Riker with a smile. "That's not my favorite place to be, but with my brothers being who they are, we have had plenty of visits there. But those are stories for another time. Tonight is all about us."
After dinner, Riker and I went out and sat on the back deck overlooking the beach. The sun had gone down by then, and the deck was lit by more candles like the ones inside. The wind picked up and i shivered slightly. Riker put his arm around me and pulled me closer to him. We sat like this for a long time and just talked. He told me about all the upcoming plans for the band, and I told him about Mom and Evan letting all of us redo our rooms.
Finally, I yawned and Riker laughed. "I guess someone is tired. Are you ready to head home? Rydel wants you to spend the night at our house, and she already asked your mom. But you don't have to if you don't want to."
"No, I would love to spend the night with Rydel. I don't have any sisters to talk to at home, and I know she has the same issue. So it would be great to have another girl to talk to. But I don't have any pajamas or clothes."
"Rydel had your mom pack a bag for you when she went to ask about you staying over. It should be back at my house." Riker explained as we went through the cottage and made sure all the candles were out. When we were done, and Riker had put all the leftover food and dirty dishes in a box to take home, we locked up the cottage and walked to the car. We got in the car and drove to Riker's house.
When we got to his house, we carried the stuff from the cottage in the house and put the foot in the fridge and the dishes in the dishwasher. Then we walked into the living room and sat down on the couch. "Looks like everyone went to bed" Riker said. "I guess we should too."
"Yeah, maybe we should. But the problem is, I don't want to end our time together." I said as I laid my head on Riker's shoulder. "Well", Riker said "why don't we both go upstairs and put on our pajamas, then come back down here and spend some more time together. Then, when we get tired, we will be ready for bed." "That sounds like a good idea. See you back here in about 10 minutes." I told him, then I leaned over and kissed him before I ran upstairs. I found my bag right outside Rydel's bedroom door, so I grabbed my pajamas from the bag and hurried to the bathroom to change. As I turned and closed the bathroom door, I saw Riker heading into his room. He smiled at me, then he went into his room and shut the door. I hurried and changed into my pajamas. When I saw what my mom had picked out for me, I laughed. She found my favorite pair of blue and white checked sleep shorts, and my blue t-shirt that had a bass guitar on the front. I put my pajamas on, then gathered my other clothes and left the bathroom. I put my dirty clothes and shoes by my bag, then headed downstairs, where Riker was waiting for me on the couch. He had on a pair of sleep pants in blue, white and black plaid, and a blue Hollister t-shirt. "We match. Isn't that cute?" Riker said as I walked into the living room.
I sat down and curled up against Riker. He put his arms around me and pulled a blanket over us. "Do you want to watch some TV?" Riker asked me. "No," I answered. "It's too late for TV. I just want to cuddle, is that OK?" "That's fine with me" he said. "I love the feel of you in my arms." We sat on the couch for a while. Eventually, I started to get sleepy, but when I looked up at Riker, I noticed that he had already fallen asleep. I didn't want to wake him up by moving, so I just got comfortable and quickly fell asleep. Tonight was the best date I had ever been on, and I was hoping that Riker and I could share more time together. I really wanted to be his girlfriend, but I was patiently waiting for him to ask. But until he did, I would enjoy every minute I could have with him.
