Dexter
I've waited 5 years for a mate. A little longer won't kill me. But it sure is torture. Back at my pack house I asked our packs oldest and wisest Gamma to my office.

"What do you know about kitten shifters?"

"Kitten shifters? Well, they are pretty rare. That and most packs kick them out as soon as they find out." Gamma Ramon stated.

"Why would they kick them out?"

"Some are incapable of shifting. But those that can suffer greatly from the shift. Some never even survive their first shift."

"How does the shift effect them?" I asked.

"I've heard some end up with injuries. Internal or external. Some end up unconscious for days. Or both. Since they don't have much wolf blood in their veins they dont heal as quickly as full blooded wolves do."

"I see.. That will be all Ramon." I dismiss him.

A few minutes later Leo walks in. I don't look up from the paperwork I'm reading over and he doesn't say anything. He sits down at his desk across the room from me and starts on some paperwork of his own.

"So what did you need to see the old man for?" Leo asks finally breaking our silence.

"He's our pack Gamma, Leo. I had some questions for him." I state without looking up.

"You going to elaborate? Seriously Dex, you've been acting odd ever since the moon party."

I sigh, finally looking up from my papers. "I found my mate but-ah-our first encounter didn't quite go as I'd envisioned it."

Leo snickers. "Lady problems with our big bad alpha?"

I hold back a growl. "Not for long. I'm filling out transfer papers now."

"Bloodrose isn't going to be happy."
Bloodrose is a pack that has neighboring territory to ours. They despise the fact that our territory is almost triple the size of theirs. The last war between our packs was a few Aphas before me. Our pack has had some arguments as of late, but I'm trying my best to keep us away from a full blown war. We're stronger than them, but war never ends well for either side. But with my mate coming into the picture things could change. Their Alpha will know with the added power a Luna will bring to our pack, Bloodrose will never stand a chance against us.

"I don't give a damn about Bloodrose's happiness."

"This could be the ammo they need to launch a full blown attack on us."

"We'll be ready." I give him a dark stare.

Leo nods. "What's the plan then Dex?"

"Once I finish signing these transfer papers we will wait for word from her current alpha giving us permission to pick her up." I answer. "Call a pack meeting. We have matters to discuss."

I rushed to the kitchens the next morning knowing full well Chef would be pissed I left early last night. But to my surprise, our pack Alpha was waiting. Both he and Chef turned to me as I walked in.

"Goodmorning Alpha Adrian." I kept my eyes low as not to upset him.

"Do you know why I'm here Kitten?" He asked.

"I left early last night without permission. But I promise it wont happen again." Chef looked at me with disgust.

Alpha Adrian paused for a moment before replying. "Why would the Alpha of Crimson Fang be requesting a transfer for a piece of trash like you?"

I could feel my face redden. "I-um-he.." I didn't even know the name of the man claiming to be my mate last night, yet he had already somehow gotten his Alpha to sign off on a pack transfer.

"I honestly don't care." Alpha Adrian stepped towards me and leaned in. "I'm glad to be rid of your kitten stench." He started for the door.

"You agreed?" I spun around, shocked at what my ears had just heard.

"There's a car waiting for you at the entrance. Grab your things and go. You're no longer a member of Silver Creek." He walked out of the kitchen doors without a look back.

I'm so shocked I cant move. I can feel my eyes starting to burn as I try my best to hold back tears. Finally working up the courage to look at Chef, she just dismisses me with the wave of her hand. In a daze I hurry back through the halls to my room to gather the few things that actually belong to me. A few books, a couple changes of clothing and a dress I had bought for a party I ended up not being able to attend. I change into a pair of dark blue jeans and a flowy dark cotton t-shirt with a skull ripped out in the back. Taking one last look at my room, I head for the pack house entrance.

Outside I find a tall blonde man leaning against a red, shiny Jaguar. He has on a pair of dark sunglasses, black dress pants and a black dress shirt that he had missed fastening the top few buttons. A smile spread upon his face. "You must be just the girl I'm waiting for."

I muster a smile.

"Is that all you have to bring?" He asks pointing at the small backpack I had on my back.

"Yeah.. This is mine." I answered.

"I can take it for you." He smiled again as I handed him my bag. He then opened the door for me. Once I had gotten in, he walked around putting my bag in the back before getting in himself. "Ready?"

I nod. As we drive away I cant help but look back at the pack house. Though it had never truly been a home to me I still felt sad to be leaving. Clearly no one cared that I was leaving, not a single one took the time to say goodbye. I guess I really was just as good as garbage to them. "Goodbye." I whispered just as Silver Creek disappeared from sight. I felt the familiar burn in my eyes again as the tears started to fall.
