I swear there is nothing better than waking up with Mia cuddled next to me, all I could do was stare at her as she slept, "Stop watching me sleep its weird." I laughed, "You did it to me last weekend, was it weird then?" She opened one eye, "No, I was cute when I did it." She rolled onto her back and stretched then turned back to me, "I was thinking." I raised my eyebrow, "Maybe we should invite Sam over to get read with us." Huh, that was not at all what I thought she would say, I thought about it for a moment, I didn't know if this would be a good idea or not. "If you want to, but I don't know if she was planning to go to the dance." I watched her facial expression, "I think we should offer anyway. If you two are planning to be friends I should probably meet her and get to know her a little bit." While this idea made me a little uncomfortable I knew that Sam would at least appreciate the gesture. "Okay, I'll call her after breakfast."

After that we cuddled and talked about what our plans were for getting ready, we got up when we heard my parents get up and head downstairs, we followed in our pajamas not long after, Leo was the last one down. We ate breakfast and my mom asked about our plans, when I mentioned inviting Sam over the table went silent except for Mia who continued to eat, she chimed in with, "Oh, it's cool, it was my idea." My mom gave me a funny look, my dad just shrugged and Leo smiled at us, I gave him a wink back. After breakfast, Mia hopped in the shower and I called Sam, "Hey, what's up?" she sounded surprised to be hearing from me. "Hey, so Mia and I were talking and we were wondering if you were planning to go to the dance tonight?" "Oh...um...I hadn't really thought about it. Why?" I took a breath, "Well if you were thinking of going we wanted to invite you to come over to get ready with us if you wanted." She was silent for a moment, "You know it would be nice to feel normal after everything. If you are sure I can be over in a few hours." I smiled, "Okay that's fine, no rush, we were just taking our showers and hanging out right now anyway." "Okay, cool, so see you in a couple of hours then." "Okay, see you then." Well, that didn't feel awkward at all...

I went and knocked on the bathroom door, Mia yelled for me to come in, so I opened the door, she was still in the shower, I told her that Sam had taken us up on our offer and she would be over in a few hours, she said okay and asked me to hand her a towel. "Are you sure about this? We don't have to have her here." She took the towel from me, opened the curtain and stepped out, "I am sure because I am secure in our relationship." Then she wrapped the towel around herself, gave me a very flirty look, a peck on the cheek and then sent me back out to my room. I had just seen my girlfriend naked...I could not stop smiling, I know what I had told my mom but damn, that was a picture I was not going to ever get out of my head.

When Sam arrived it was a bit awkward but that soon faded as Mia jumped into primping mode, while normally she was not overly girly, she loved getting ready for big events, getting hair just right, nails done, makeup on point, it was like a beauty queen just popped out of her or something, She set me in a chair and got my hair all pinned into place like she wanted it, I didn't mind being her living Barbie doll, actually I like it when she is playing with my hair and doing my makeup. After she was done with me she told Sam to get into the seat, she seemed surprised that Mia was planning on doing her hair too; I just shrugged and told her she better get over there. We all talked, joked and laughed, once Mia had finished with Sam's hair and makeup she declared the bathroom was now hers since I already had my dress on and Sam was slipping into hers.

We waited for Mia to get out of the bathroom; it wasn't as awkward as I thought it would be, they seemed to get along well, I know there were tensions on both sides but I think that Mia was right if I was going to be dating her and friends with Sam they should know each other. "Mia is great." I looked at Sam; she seemed to be being genuine as she admired Mia's handy work in the mirror, "Yeah, she's really creative, her room is covered in art of all kinds, photos, watercolors, chalk, charcoal. Pretty much anything she can get her hands on." Sam was watching me in the mirror. "You really like her." I blushed a little when I realized how much I was gushing. "Don't be embarrassed, I'm glad that you found someone that makes you happy, you deserve it and I can tell that she is head over heels for you too. Makes me think there might be hope for me yet somewhere out there." She gave me a half smile and went back to double checking her makeup, I felt a bit bad for her, I was happy with a beautiful girlfriend and here's the first girl I had feelings for hanging out with us, we all knew that she still had feelings for me but it wasn't gonna happen.

I was about to say something when I heard the door of the bathroom open, I turned to look and I swear my jaw hit the floor, Mia wasn't wearing the dress we had picked out together instead she was wearing a long flowing deep red dress that just made you say WOW, she had done her hair simply, pulling it back into a perfect Ponytail. She had diamond earrings in, a couple of gold rings on her fingers and her makeup was subtle yet striking. All I could do was stare at her, there were no words for just how beautiful she was: there was a smirk on her face that said she was pleased with my reaction, she sauntered over to me very close, "What do you think? You like?" all I could do was nod.

I'm not sure if I was grateful that my mom knocked on the door at that moment or not, "Are you girls ready yet? I want pictures before you go! Oh, wow, Mia you look...you look like you should be on a red carpet somewhere." "Thank you, we'll be right down, just finishing touches." "I'm good." Sam chimed in. she gave me a look before leaving with my mom. Then it was just Mia and I, "So..." she asked, "What?" she rolled her eyes at me and let out an exasperated sigh, "What do you think?" she turned slowly, showing off her dress, the material hugged her in all the right places reminding me of when she got out of the shower the morning. "I think that if it was just you and me alone that dress would be on the floor and we would be in my bed." That put a big smile on her face. "Good, that was just what I was going for." She kissed me lightly, teasingly, before we headed downstairs.

We all had fun at the dance, Mia was the hit of the dance, she had everyone turning to look at her, there were even a few brave guys that came up to her and asked her to dance, she was polite about it but told them she was there with her girlfriend then proceeded to pull me onto the dance floor. Sam seemed to have a good time, she danced with us for the faster songs but left us when the slow ones hit. I couldn't help but be mesmerized by Mia, she was incredible.

The dance ended at eleven and we took Sam home, we weren't quite ready to go back to my house yet, so we drove around for a bit, finally having wound down a little we went home. My parents were already in bed so we tried to be quiet as we took off our shoes before we went upstairs to my bedroom.

Once we were in my room I decided to be brave, I pulled Mia to me, kissing her, I could tell that I caught her off guard but she quickly kissed me back, I directed her over towards my bed. We bumped into it, causing we to nearly fall over, "Wait, what are we doing?" she asked breathlessly, I'm pretty sure that she knew what was gonna happen but wanted some sort of confirmation that we were on the same page. "I told you earlier what would happen if we were alone." I said as I reached up to her shoulder and slid the strap down and kissed her no bare skin, she sighed. "Are you sure?" She whispered in my ear, I kissed my way along her shoulder, neck, and jaw before kissing her lips passionately, she had been driving me crazy all night, and I wanted her. She kissed me back and we began undressing each other, we explored each other's bodies, teasing and caressing one another. We made love.

Just before we fell asleep I whispered "I love you, Mia." Her sleepy eyes looked up at me, raising her hand to play with my hair that hung next to my cheek. "I love you, Avery."

In the morning I couldn't help but stare at the beautiful creature that laid in my arms, the memories of last night playing in my mind over and over again. In some ways nothing had changed; but it had, I was with Mia, she made me stronger Just by thinking about her, by knowing that she existed and that she loved me and I loved her.

My world was perfect.
