I had to ask my mum a lot of stuff for this chapter lol
Magic 8 Ball, do you have any kids?
Most likely

McKenna
“Why wouldn’t you tell me?”
His voice is a whisper.
His voice is broken.
“We need to go,” I turn back to the shopping cart abruptly and try to push it.
I’m desperate to get out of this situation.
I’m desperate to act like this never happened.
A hand grips my bicep, though, and stops me.
“You can’t leave,” Michael’s stern voice meets my eardrums.
“I need to. Hadley needs her crib for her nap,” I make up an excuse.
“She’s sleeping already, though,” Calum points out.
“She sleeps better in her crib,” I tell them.
“I swear to God, McKenna, if you leave I will find you and take Hadley away from you,” Ashton threatens.
This is my worst nightmare.
I grip Hadley tighter in my arms.
“Why don’t we handle this responsibly?” Luke suggests, gently. “Why don’t we get your groceries, McKenna, and then head back to your house so we can put your groceries away and Hadley in her crib? Then we can discuss this further from there.”
“Sounds good to me,” Michael shrugs.
“It’s okay,” Ashton grumbles.
Calum nods.
They all turn to me for my reaction.
Hadley shifts around in my arms and wraps her tiny arms around my neck. She buries her small head into my neck.
“Fine,” I whisper.
I push my cart again towards the check out and with help from the boys, put my groceries on the conveyer belt.
“That’ll be $103 and 54 cents,” the lady behind the cash register says.
