Magic 8 Ball, does it suck to be sick?
Outlook not so good
Wth does that mean you lil bitch
McKenna
I turn over in my bed, groaning at my already throbbing headache.
The groan turns out sounding really weird since it seems as if my nose is stuffed.
Well, looks like I’m sick.
I slowly tug the blankets off of me and lift my feet to the hardwood flooring, shivering as the coldness runs through me.
I stand up and am greeted by a wave of lightheadedness, making me have to sit down back down on the bed.
I groggily reach for my iPhone on my bedside table, unlocking it and going to my contacts with one eye open.
I click on the one I was looking for and raise it to my ear, moaning at the loud ringing.
“Hello?” A feminine voice says from the other end of the phone call.
“Hey Karen, its McKenna,” I groggily greet her.
“Hey McKenna, what’s up?” Karen asks happily.
“I don’t think I’ll be able to come into work today, I’ve caught the cold,” I tell her sleepily.
“Okay, I hope you feel better. Bye,” Karen hangs up, disappointed.
My coworkers love it when I work because I share stories of silly little Hadley, and I even bring her in sometimes if her daycare’s closed.
I hang up too and dial Hadley’s daycare, telling them the same thing.
If I’m going to be home I’m not going to make a trip and spend money for Hadley to go somewhere else.
I throw my phone randomly onto my bed, laying back down and closing my eyes.
Just five more minutes.
“Mommy wake up, wake up mommy!” A high pitched voice yells.
I feel limbs on my legs and torso, then my bed bounces up and down.
I groan and open my eyes, looking up to see Hadley giggling, her little brown waves flying around her.
“I’m up, I’m up baby,” I let out a laugh, meeting her green eyes.
