Chapter 3 - Michael

Shea and I read the same bus everyday, but this morning was the first time I sat next to her. She's interesting to talk to, she seems quiet but once she starts talking, Shea really doesn't stop. That's what I like about her.

Her personality is great, amazing! She's like that girly but tomboy-ish type of girl, that's cool too.

We were partners for some frog dissecting lesson. After the bell rang, Shea stood up and grabbed her stuff. But before she walked out, she invited me to lunch. "So, if you want, find briar and I at lunch. Usually in the middle of the lunchroom." She flashed me a flirty grin that also seemed to say "find me."

I was about to walk out of the room when my friend, JC, punched my shoulder. "Hey dude, is there anything between you and Shea?" I shook my head.

"Nope, but hopefully soon." I replied back somewhat smiling. "No, wait, you're gonna ask her out? You guys hardly talk!"

"I know, I know. But that's gonna change." What if JC sat with us at lunch? "Hey, come sit with Briar, Shea, and I at lunch." JC nodded, "Alright. Fine. So that's what she asked you."

"Yeah, now come on let's go before it gets packed."

JC and I went to the lunchroom to find the girls. Shea said they usually sat in the middle. We eventually found them and sat down.

I sat next to Shea and JC sat next to Briar. "Hey." I said to no one particularly. "Hi there. You decided to sit with us after all." Shea said resting her head in the palm of her hand.

"Yup." I said popping the P. "I also got JC here as you see." I popped a carrot stick into my mouth.

JC and Briar has hardly touched their food; they've been talking the whole time we've been here. Which has been 15 minutes.

I nudged Shea's arm. She turned and faced me. "Hey, do you like to skateboard?" I asked. "Um, yeah. I use a Pennyboard though. I mean it's an off brand but yeah."

Awesome, I thought. "Ok, so can I talk you somewhere later?" Shea turned and looked at me. "What? Where? When?" I laughed at her questions. 

"Well, tomorrow after school. Bring your 'pennyboard' thing. It's a surprise." Shea gave me a friendly smile. "Alright."

Soon lunch was over and JC and Briar didn't finish lunch (what a shocker) but I was going to hang out with Shea tomorrow. I couldn't wait to talk her.

We dumped our trays and went over to JC. Shea found me and we had a short little conversation. "If I don't see you tomorrow, I guess I'll see you after school?" I nodded, "Yeah!"

So the bell rang and everyone left the lunchroom. I was super stoked about Shea's surprised. I guaranteed she'll like it.
