It had been almost a month, the young couple still found themselves wrapped up in a blissful romance. Blooming a little bit more each day. It was the nights they held on to the most, though. where his dark hair was prickling her neck as he was buried beside her. and how he never seemed to loosen the grip which was comfortably tight. Where she was breathing softly, that it was tickling his face. How she kept their fingers interlocked all night. Legs tangled in the soft sheets, as they stayed up into the point where you couldn't differentiate night from day because your eyes and the actual time told you two different stories. Talking about only god knows what, confessing only what they know, holding only each other.

And right now, as he stared at her sleeping, Nick admired the way she kept her faint smile even when she was at a loss of consciousness. Their hands joined, bodies pressed together, her head on his pillow as they lay in his bed - dark, messy hair fanned out to just before his nose. The boy gazed at her, wondering how on earth did he manage to get here with someone as amazing as her.

"are you done staring?" she asked after moments of silence, eyes still closed.

"no," he replied simply, gently brushing a strand away off her face.

the large doe eyes beneath him fluttered open and gazed back into his lighter smaller ones. "morning," she smiled.

and then the part nick hated came, when they had to leave the room; when they couldn't stay wrapped up in each other. he stopped her from moving, "stay," he murmured into her hair, "for a bit longer,"

Cierra's arms and legs grew goosebumps with the way he spoke - and she was so sure he knew what he was doing to her. stretching her neck, she checked the time on the old digital clock on his desk beside the bed. 10:46. Brandon thought she was at edwin's, so she figured staying a bit longer wouldn't hurt.

"when's your brother home?" she asked in the same quiet voice, aiming to keep the atmosphere tranquil.

a sigh left the boys mouth, and he looked up at the white ceiling, "i don't know, i don't really care either," he said honestly.

Turning on her side, Cierra looked up at nicholas, running her hand through the jet black hair that fell forward messily. She pouted because she didn't know what to say, she felt for her boyfriend - it made her upset to see his relationship with his brother break more and more everyday. (nick had told her their situation and how chris had never been the same since their parents died).

he closed his eyes for a brief moment as his hands slipped under his light grey baggy t-shirt she slept in, fingertips grazing her sides softly even though his hands were rough in a subtle way.

"we can't stay here forever," cierra commented with a small smile. Nick's heart fluttered and beat heavily when he opened his eyes and saw her biting her lip. He smiled back at her and continued running his fingertips up and down her side. Her teeth sunk lower into her lip and her smile grew a little more.

A deep laugh escaped nick, "you're ticklish," he observed simply.

Shying away, the smaller girl took his hand in hers and removed it. Nick tried to release his hand from the grasp in hopes to tickle her again, his smile widening as he let out a soft chuckle. Cierra's protests were weak against nicholas' strength, her grip on his hands loosening as she fell above him. She held herself up by straddling him, her smile growing as she tightened the grip on his larger hands and a jokingly evil giggle left her lips.

nick stared at her, his mind running with the idea that he could wake up like this every morning. Her head fell onto his chest, and his arms automatically found themselves around her petite frame. "We need to move," she mumbled into his chest. He responded with a disagreeing grunt which earned a snort from her.

Nick sang quietly as he scrambled the eggs, standing at the stove in grey sweats and a large black t-shirt. Favouring the sight before her, Cierra walked into the kitchen and watched him. She made herself useful and started making the coffee, adding no sugar into nick's because he likes it bitter (something she never understood, she took hers with a lot of sugar and milk).

It wasn't brewing for long, and she poured the steaming liquid into the two mugs as he waited by the table where their food lay on the plates. She placed the hot mugs on the table and brought Nick's to him to. He smiled at her, being touched by the genuine gesture. she didn't treat him weirdly like most people did, she handed the pill to him like it was no big deal. "because it's who you are, and it's not something that people should act different about," she had told him that when she first slept over and he didn't want to ask for it because he felt embarrassed. not like he'd tell her that, of course. but she got it out of him, like she always does.

and then they had to part, because it turned beyond the hour of twelve and it became the time they remembered the real world. they no longer could hide in one another; instead they had to work.

Nicholas was tired. so tired. he couldn't get his mind around a simple thing. and god help him if chris finds out he and zion messed up.

He sat in his kitchen, his head in his hands, fingers in his hair. Zion stood in the corner by the drawers and cupboards, uttering small curses. The much taller boy hit the cupboard with all his force, causing nick to look up. he stared at his friend, who just stared back. unknowingness swirling in the air between them.

And then there was the sound of a key turning in the lock, and the door opened. An angry and very annoyed Chris walked into the kitchen, seeing red where nick was.

"what the fuck happened," he snarled. with a pointed finger, he turned to zion, "you were supposed to keep a look out, to watch." his eyes held a nasty glare that was reserved for nick. "you idiot," chris called his brother. "you stupid fool, you fucking waste of space,"

Nick didn't speak, he bit his tongue and held back. 1... 2... 3... cierra once read aloud to him that counting in your head can calm a person before they snap.

"Say something then," chris sighed.

"we didn't know," zion shrugged, "you send us out to give drugs to a guy, we don't know what he look like, what car he got," when all the older brother did was look at him, he concluded, "so how were we supposed to know,"

Chris nodded, "yeah, okay," he said defeatedly but still laced with an undertone of disgust and anger. "next time, don't fuck up on a delivery," he directed to the boy with dark hair.

Nick stared at his white trainers, his jaw clenched and his fists tightly closed beneath the table. he still didn't speak. instead, he counted and thought of her to calm down.
