(Geprard's POV)

The art show. Ah yes, that little thing where I had the run in with Lindsey. Where my life kinda totally changed. Well, the interview after it just kinda made Lindsey want to stick around no longer.

Since the art show, Lindsey had given me her phone number and we had hung out in and out of school. I don't really think her mom appreciates the fact that I'm always around. I think that she thinks I'll be a bad influence on her daughter, but she doesn't know that I care about her daughter more than anything else pertaining to my life. Lindsey makes me super happy, something that few people have accomplished. She's cute and funny, and she appreciates my art and supports my dreams. She's a sweetheart, too. She always makes sure that I'm okay and checks in on me everyday. I still can't comprehend how exactly I got this girl and why she thinks I deserve her.

Today after school Lindsey and I are going to have our first official "date". Although we've gone places together and done things like such, we haven't had a real date yet. Tonight I would pick her up from home and we would go to this fancy italian restaurant in town, and after I would take her home. It seems real cliche, but I can't think of anything better. The art museum was a whole two hours away and it was a school night, I don't want her out too late. I think her mom appreciates that I promised to have her home by 10:30 tonight. That lady freaks me out though so I promised myself to have her home by 9:45 to please the woman.

We walked out of school together, lately we've been driving to and from school together, and we got the usual stares. I guess it's pretty weird seeing the two art kids together in a romantic relationship. Weird.

"Hey, Gerard." She mumbled, looking down at her shoes while walking alongside me. She had a sad look on her face like something was bothering her.

"Hey Linds, what's wrong?" I asked, wrapping my arm around her shoulder and pulling her close to me, still walking but now with our hips touching. She rested her head on my shoulder and sighed.

"Well, I totally bombed my calculus test, and I've just been having this horrible migraine all day. It's just not been the best day for me." She said, looking up at me and shrugging my arm off. I dropped my arm to my side and bit my lip.

Did this mean she wouldn't be up for our date that I'd been patiently awaiting since the moment i'd laid eyes on her? I sighed, thinking about having to wait a while for this date to happen. She looked up at me with a sense of guilt in her eye, and this confirmed my suspicions. Tonight we would not be going to dinner.

"I'm sorry you had a bad day sweetheart. Is there anything I could do to make it any better?"

"I just really want to be left alone tonight. I know we were supposed to go to that restaurant and have dinner, but I just really want to go home and finish up on some homework and sleep. I know you'll be disappointed but I'm just not up for a night out."

I winced, hoping she didn't notice. I had been looking forward to this all day, all week even. She sighed again and as we made it to the car, I helped her into her seat and drove off.

The ride home was awkward. She knew I was disappointed no matter how many times I told her I was fine. Alright, I was disappointed but I would never admit it. I tried to make small talk and she would too, but it was just, awkward.

I dropped her off at home and drove off. What I didn't expect was her to ignore all my calls and texts, sending me straight to voicemail.

What had I done so wrong?
