A/N: I'm so sorry this is late and short! I was suddenly out of town since last Tues night to care for my Grammie as she was in and out of the hospital with stomach problems. I didn't have time to even think about the chapter, let alone write it until now, and I'm still busy with her. Sorry again, enjoy!
Fueled by anger and no small amount of fear, Dib glared daggers at the net and thought frantically. 'Maybe it won't hurt to bad if I claw at it. Or I could try biting it really quickly, or maybe . . .' His train of thought ended as the wall closest to him exploded and the room was clouded with smoke.“I'z got tacoooos!!”
“WHAT THE HELL?!” Dib shrieked, keen eyes barely detecting Gir's outline though the smoke. “Gir! You have to get me out of here; Zim's in trouble!” Dib yelled frantically.
“Master's in trouble?!” The little robot shrieked, his eyes turning red. “To the ship!”
“Wait, Gir, no! He's in the lab-”
“LAB!!” Gir yelled, rocketing off to the trash can and disappearing down the chute.
“Great,” Dib growled. “That may by Zim some time, but I'm still stuck here! I can't believe Gir just left me! I . . . I . . .” It was then that he noticed the gaping hole in the side of the net, courtesy of Gir's explosive entrance. Dib groaned and jumped through the hole, running at a dead sprint to the lab. 'I can't believe I didn't see that . . .'
Meanwhile, in the lab, Zim had just been studying a spreadsheet regarding Dib's vitals when he heard a soft noise behind him.
“Ah, Dib-thing,” he said, starting to turn around. “I was just about to tell you that your tests show . . . Tak?! What are you doing here?!” He hissed, his antennae flattening against his skull as he stared down the other Irken.
“That's General Tak to you,” she said, smiling smugly and petting Mimi fondly. “As for what I am doing here, I am simply following orders to arrest you and bring you back to Irk for a 'trial'.”
“Eh? Trial? What do the Tallests want that for? I was banished and left for dead, remember?” he asked bitterly.
“Oh, I remember clearly. But it would appear that your work on the part-human pet upstairs has involved using Irken DNA. Surely you didn't think that would go unnoticed?”
“So what if I worked on Dib? I was trying to save him from being a full vampire!”
“Oh, I know,” Tak said with a sly grin. “Your feelings for the boy are evident; always were. But surely you can remember the Irken law stating that revealing our race's DNA is forbidden?”
“Zim has not revealed anything!” he said, angrily crossing the room to step closer to her. “Besides, the other meat beats on this filth planet would not believe if they came across us or our blood anyways.”
“Nonetheless, I have my orders from the mighty Tallests, and I will not let you stand in my way as you did years ago,” she said, ferocity glinting hard as steel in her purple eyes. “You are going with me, Zim; whether you resist or not.”
