Chapter 5.

Sunday went by too quickly and I was back in the miserable hell hole that kids from the ages of 5-18 have to attend for thirteen whole years. You guessed correctly, I was back in school. I sluggishly made my way to my locker before first period and somehow got there without dying. I was exhausted. A night with no sleep calls for a very unhappy self, but texting Case was worth it. I blushed at the thought and put my backpack in my locker. I grabbed my binder and put on a black beanie.

"Well good morning beautiful" Charlie sarcastically remarked, snickering a little at my appearance, "You look splendid this morning."

I groaned, Charlie would say something about my tired, sloppy attire, "Ugh, shut up buttmunch," I said, playfully smacking his arm.

"Why do you look like shit?" He asked, more directly.

"I stayed up practically all night," I groaned.

"Oh, that geography assignment?" He asked.

"No, I finished that weeks ago, you know that," I retorted, "I stayed up texting Case until like two this morning and then couldn't go back to sleep. I got like four energy drinks for today."

His eyes widened, "You're talking to Case?" he asked, trying to get the gossip, like the usual everyday Charlie.

I laughed at his face, he was such a dork, "I don't know Charles."

"Ugh, you need to learn how to flirt. I have like three girls texting me. Girl, I can totally help you, unless you're really talking to him." Charlie offered. This is why he's my best friend. He always had some dorky remark that would make you honestly think he's gay, but then he acts really manly and protective.

"I told you already, I have no clue. But honestly, I couldn't care less." Lie I thought.

"Oh, yeah right. I can read you like a book, did you forget. Lyric, you'd be insane to think I fell for that lie. Little Miss Lyric, please do spill." He demanded. Little Miss Lyric, that reminded me of Case.

"At lunch, okay? I have to get to class." I promised, shut my locker and walked off to first period calculus.

"Nice of you to join us," Mr. Vidal said when I 'finally' got to class, which was only a minute or so after the bell rang.

"Wouldn't want to miss my favorite class" I retorted, sarcastically of course, but I really didn't mind math.

"Take your seat and get out your text book" He instructed. I did as told and followed along the lesson like normal. Some sarcasm, a little attitude and little to no attention actually on the subject at hand, but I still managed to get an 'A' in the class. Math comes easy to me for some weird reason, and I was one of Mr. Vidal's favorite students so the class was an easy class to have first period.

"No homework for tonight, have a nice evening." Mr. Vidal said as the bell rang dismissing us from his class.

Lunch approached too quickly and as soon as I made my way to the lunch room I was rushed to our table by an excited Charlie, "Dude calm your tits. I took one step in here and you were attacking me. With that level of anticipation I wouldn't want to let you down." I said to him.

"If your totally not a thing why is he coming over here?" Charlie asked.

I fixed my beanie and whispered to Charlie, "What, dude I look like shit. Ew. Why is he coming over here?"

"Hey Lyric" Case said, setting his lunch on the table and sitting beside me. My mind raced with one thought: Shit. Shit. SHIT.

"Hey dude," Charlie said, to fill the silence.
