Within the week that Alek had moved in, everyone seemed to be getting used to some of the new routines that had started since the house had added the new person. Alek would wake up first and make breakfast for the three of them. After that, August and Alek would walk Pandora to school, then the pair would part ways to head off to work.
After work, August would walk Pandora home from school and they would relax and wait for Alek to get back to the house around six in the evening. August would then make dinner for the three of them. Later, Pandora and Alek would wash and put away the dishes.
In the back of his mind, August was starting think of Alek as more than a friend in a way. A way that some people might describe as a crush. He shook the feeling off and let it go to the back of his mind.
One evening, Alek was alone at the house while August went to take Pandora to her mother's house. The tall man wandered into the kitchen and started to bake some chocolate chip cookies. A few minutes after the cookies were finished, August walked into the house and seemed a bit off. Alek looked at him with the a slightly concerned expression on his face as he asked,"Hey, you okay?" August looked up at him and replied,"To be honest, not really." Alek had sat next to him on the couch and responded,"Do you want to talk about it? I-I mean, we don't have to, but do you?" August smiled softly as he responded, "Are you sure you want to hear this story? It's quite long..." Alek smirked and replied," That's what he said." The ginger smiled a little at the joke before he started the story.
"So, when I was still married to my now ex wife, we were pretty close. One day, she found me with another man. She got mad, even though I tried to explain that I was just trying to figure stuff out. I soon found out that she was also cheating. We got the divorce and now Pandora gets weekends with her." Alek asked, "What happened with you and the man?" August replied,"We saw each other a few more times before he told me he was going to have to break up with his boyfriend to be with me. I then broke it with him." Alek got even more curious and asked another question,"What did he look like?" The smaller one answered,"He was blond and had blue eyes. He was about average." Alek smirked and asked,"Do you mean he was average in height or in size?" August blushed a little as he replied,"Both." Alek's eyes narrowed a little as he said,"It was Alfred, wasn't it?" August saw how Alek's expression changed when he had said the name. Without thinking, he put his hand on Alek's thigh as he looked up at him with worried eyes as he asked,"Are you okay, Al?" The black haired man jumped a little at the ginger's touch and replied,"Y-yeah, I'm fine." He stood up and headed to his room and shut the door.

August stayed on the couch for a few minutes before going to knock on the taller man's door; he heard a muffled "Go away" from the other side. He was concerned, so he went in anyway and saw Alek sitting on the floor and leaning against the bed. He had his eyes closed and didn't seem to notice August standing near him. August sat down and softly said,"Hey...," Alek jumped a little and glanced at him. After a few minutes of comfortable silence, Alek asked,"What are you doing in here?" August shrugged and replied,"It's my house and I can do whatever," he noticed that Alek still seemed to be acting weird after their deep conversation about their exes. He finally said,"So, what's wrong? Please don't lie to me." August subconsciously laid his head on Alek's shoulder as he waited for an answer. Alek finally answered,"I've just been thinking about how my ex had cheated on me for my new crush..." He quickly realized what he had said and continued,"Like, it's not like I care or anything...." August smiled a little, thinking that he might be the new crush.
