TW: there's a scene with attempted rape and physical abuse. Don't read if that triggers you.

I decided to go home at 11:00 pm.

It was hard, crawling away from the warmth of Axel and his bed. I could tell he was tired, as was I. It would be amazing to fall asleep beside him, but I was saving that for another night.

We both understood how weird it was to date within the first week, so we set up a trial. We wouldn't tell many people about our relationship for the first month. If it was still going strong, we'd make it official.

I kissed him goodbye, despite protest, and showed myself out.

I could hear him lightly snoring practically as soon as I left the room.

The bus ride home was short. I texted Ellis to tell him I was on my way home, and he made me swear to spill all the tea.

The streets were surprisingly desolate. I watched the trees as they passed by, furrowing my eyebrows as I thought I saw someone familiar, but they were gone as soon as they were there. Whatever.

I walked into my house, welcomed by Fly.

"Lover boy is back!"

A chuckle escapes my lips.

"I'm tired." I sigh jokingly.

"Um, bitch. No. I bought wine."

He holds up a bottle of rosè.

"Fine."

Our glasses are emptied within 5 minutes, we pour another.

"I told him a joke and root beer shot all over the table. It was hilarious. We were laughing practically the whole time."

"That's so romantic!"

"I know right!"

I down another glass, Ellis on his fourth.

"I told him I liked him at the beach, and he did, in fact, think I was straight."

Ellis nods, my earlier suspicion confirmed.

"So I told him I was bi, and he leaned in. I could smell the root beer on his breath. And he was like "good" and then we shared the hottest kiss ever."

"Eeeeeee! Track is tomorrow, I'm not gonna be able to look at him the same."

"Just wait till I explain what happened after."

"Oh my god, you hoe!"

I put a finger to my lips. "You're interupting."

I get to the steamy bits, Ellis' jaw was dropped the whole time.

"Why'd you leave!?"

"Cause I'm saving that for another night, it's a big step, sleeping beside someone."

He understands, but I know if it were him though, he would've stayed.

"Sooo, what are you guys. It's kind of weird to be dating within the first week."

"Yea, we agreed to keep it on the down low. Start telling people after a month."

"Oh, that's smart."

"Yea, okay, your turn."

"What?"

I point to his torso "You owe me an explanation for that."

"Oh. I don't know."

"K bye, leave."

"No! OK I'll tell you, just, it's a long story."
