Present
My mind drifts to Elio, sadness filling my senses. I can tell Leon is thinking of him too. I reach over the table and grab hold of his hand, he squeezes back briefly before breaking off and waving to the waitress.
"An order of lamb coconut curry, butter chicken, 2 dishes of rice, and 2 pieces of garlic naan." We always order the same thing here. It was Elio and I's favourite.
We eat in silence for a few minutes, before Leon brings up the first question.
"So... Axel?"
"Don't even get me started."
I spill everything from start to finish, sparing a few details.
"Wow, Maddox. You chose well! I must meet him. Invite him to the playhouse."
"I don't know..."
"Please?"
Leon is practically the master of getting what he wants, or maybe I'm just a pushover, but either way, I agree. At least then, Axel can witness as I kick Charlie's butt in my tight ass leggings.
I giggle to myself. It's been awhile since Leon and I have really spoke. He tells me of his wife, Maria, and how she's doing. I make him promise to get some of her famous pizza for me.
I talk of the desperate search for a house that Ellis can stay in.
"I really do wish I could help, you know how fond I am of Ellis." He wears a face of concern.
"I know. Don't worry, we'll get a solution soon."
"That's my boy!"
Soon, the clock reads 4:30. My juice department has run dry. Leon offers me a ride home, but I prefer to take the bus. I'll just put my ear buds in and look at the scenery.
"Next time, don't leave me alone for so long! You're my gossip supplier!"
"Yes, yes. Will do."
He kisses me on either side of the cheek farewell and I walk through the cool breeze to my bus stop. For once my thoughts aren't of Axel, but of Elio.

I walk in to see Axel and Ellis laughing on the couch. Fly runs over, jumping into my arms, greeting me the best way she knows how.
"Maddox, oh my god, guess what!" Ellis excitedly jumps up from the couch.
I look to Axel, but he only smirks.
"Axel said I can stay with him!" Ellis is jumping up and down like a kid who just won a stuffed bear at a carnival.
Axel nods in approval. Problem solved.
"Oh my god! Axel!" I slide over to the couch landing on Axel, whispering thank you's into the crook of his neck.
He runs his fingers through my tangled locks, giggling, and happy that he could help.
"My pleasure. The guest room in my house is in need of some love, plus, it wouldn't be so bad to have Ellis around. He really is a laugh."
Axel really is special, offering his house to my best fried even though he's only known me for slightly over a week. Is it too soon to say I might be falling in love?
"Sorry to ruin y'alls moment, but I need to run back to my place and grab some clothes."
"What?" I immediately tense up at the thought of Ellis going back to his apartment. What if Ben was there?
"It's OK, Madd. He isn't home, and I'll be like 2 seconds." I look over to Axel for support, but he only shrugs.
"Can't you just buy new clothes?"
"Do I look rich to you?" He retorts. Ugh.
"I'll be fine, mom."
"Shut up." Axel grabs my hand gently.
"Your call, flops." He reassures me, his eyes filled with with warmth. I really didn't want to get up, but it was true, Ellis needed his stuff.
"Are you sure Ben isn't home?" I nervously bite my lip.
"Yup. He's working right now, and that man would never miss work. If I'm not home in 25 minutes.... I don't know. I'll be quick."
I can't help the nervous pit in my stomach, but I see the look in Ellis' eyes saying that he wants to be alone.
"Ok."
"Awesome, don't get to freaky while I'm gone." With that, he strolls out the door, leaving Axel and I alone.
"What happened with Ben?" I look down into his gorgeous eyes. I just wanted to melt into him,but he deserved to know. Taking a deep breath, I start the story from the beginning. I can see as anger floods over him, I'd never seen him angry before.
"It's ok, babe. Ben will get what he deserves. I think Ellis needs some space. He's been through alot."
We share a warm embrace, Fly joining in, licking at me for attention.
"She's almost as needy as you." Axel smirks at me as we pull away.
"Shut up."
"Make me."
Oh. So that's how it's gonna be. Suddenly filled with a burning sense of lust, I capture his lips with mine. Our tongues slide together, each of us hungry for the other.
Quickly I stand up with Axel's hand in mine, leading him over to the bedroom. Fly now spreads out on the couch, leaving my bedroom empty. Good, because I don't know if I'd be able to give my boyfriend a blow job with her in the same room.
As soon as the bedroom door is shut, we strip down to our underwear and fall onto the soft mattress, Axel over top of me.
Breaking away the kiss, he looks into my eyes. "You have the most beautiful eyes."
I laugh, tracing his chest with my hands.
"I did some research. I know the basic stuff about how testosterone affects your body, and surgeries. When your comfortable, I want to learn how to make you feel good."
He comes in for a kiss, seeing the worry in my eyes.
"I don't know about any of your past experiences, and I'll listen when you want to tell me. But I want you to know that I won't hurt you, and that I'm comfortable with you. I can't imagine how hard it must be, but I want to try to make you see what I see."
God, I think I'm gonna cry. No one's ever said that to me. He gently wipes a stray tear off my cheek with his thumb, patiently waiting for my answer.
"Thank you, Axel."
