Seth was perched on the roof of a nearby building as he held his sacred golden staff. His golden gaze was locked on the young woman that was being led down the road by the beast that he'd been hunting for nearly two weeks. This incubus was cunning. He always managed to evade his own demise, but this time Seth knew that he was going to beat the beast. There was no way out. The beast had already shown him all of its tricks. There was nothing that could surprise the young demigod at this point. No fake disappearing acts. He wasn't going to let this beast go!
The incubus led the young woman down an alley and Seth jumped from the rooftop to land perfectly on his feet before he set off at a slow gait. He was in no hurry. The woman wouldn't be in any danger until later that night, which meant that he just needed to follow. Stay to the shadows and keep his staff close. He wasn't going to lose it again.
"Silly boy," the deep haunting voice filled the street around him, "You still think that you can—" the beast's voice was cut off just as Seth reached the opening of the alley. Seth smiled at the young woman as she stood there with a bronze dagger in her hand that was sticking out of the incubus' heart.
The young woman offered Seth a smile before she pulled the knife out with a sickening popping sound. The beast fell to the ground at her feet, it's inky black blood oozing out around her black suede boots, "Perfect, Row," she nodded before she pulled a black cloth out of her little red plaid purse and wiped the blade clean, "He's back down in hell," she stepped through the growing puddle, tracking herself with her black foot prints, "He was a sneaky bastard."
Rowan rolled her eyes, "How does it make you feel that a witch had to help you banish this sad demon?"
Seth chuckled as his staff shrunk to the size of a pen and he tucked it into the inside pocket of his jacket, "Honestly, it makes me feel good to know that I have such a competent ally on my side," he stepped up to her and placed his hands on her slender hips, "Now to finish the plan that that incubus had for you," he leaned down and placed his lips to her.
Rowan melted into his embrace as she placed her hands against his chest. She would never regret joining this man in his endeavor to protect. Even if he wasn't the powerful being he was, she wouldn't regret being by his side.
Agatha sighed as she stared at her two youngest disciples. Seth's dark auburn hair was a contained mess, as if he tried to brush it to hide the fact that it had been disheveled. Rowan's stockings were uneven and her skirt was on crooked. The older woman could see exactly what had happened. Ever since Rowan had saved the young demigod's life they were inseparable. To the point that she was sure that they had found a place in a secluded alley and only shoved their clothes out of the way, "What am I going to do with you two!" she brushed her grey mop behind her ear and out of her dark face, "How many times do I have to tell you to keep your hands off of each other!"
Seth smiled at her before Rowan spoke up, "I remember you telling me that there was nothing wrong with having a romantic relationship as long as it didn't put me in danger. What better partner than my actual partner?"
"Rowan!" Agatha snapped, "Shut that smart mouth! This is common sense! You two can't just be shacking up in an alley! The very same alley that you had just banished an incubus!" she narrowed her gaze on the two, "The body could attract another and how are you two going to defend yourselves? You honestly can't fight while screwing!"
Seth gave the woman a thoughtful look as a playful smile played at the corners of his lips, "That would be a hell of a way to banish a demon..."
