At some point in time I must of fallen asleep. Because when I woke up I met two sets of eyes.
Scrambling back, I clutched the ring tighter in my fist. They scared the bobble bobs out of me.
"Who are you, Miss" One guy came forward, sternly staring at me.
Both guys had their arms crossed.
Then my saviour came.
"ESSIE, I told you to stay inside near the bar!"
Patrick walked across the terrace and saw me with the two guys which were now staring daggers at me. Pushing the guys aside he grabbed my hand and helped me get up.The guys grumbled behind him clearly annoyed.
"Hey you two, we are on business I suggest you return to your posts, the big man will see her soon" Patrick pushed past them me in tow as their mouths gaped.Quickly placing the ring on the necklace in my dress, we walked down hallways and to a back room.
It seemed like a lounge area, all the lounges were velvet red and one each sat a man. Looking to each one their faces were all very serious and when they noticed me they seemed to access me.
Each one seemed to be made out of stone, they were like statues but only there eyes moved. Looking around them Sebastian, Doug and the other guys didn't seem to be around.
But these guys seemed to all be waiting for there turn to speak to someone, it was a waiting lounge. Feeling uncomfortable under their gazes I squeezed Patricks hand, as he looked to me he got the signal and nodded.Leading me to another door way we went through another door. In this room a small group of men in crisp suits stood around a game of pool, there was talking and the room seemed to have a good vibe compared to the silent room we were just in.
I think these men in this room seemed to be on more neutral terms, may be the men in the other room were members of the gang kind of like the muscle. Maybe that's why they all seemed on edge, ready and prepared for the word. Made sense, the other room was for the workforce, in this room it was their leaders. Looking around the room I noticed a double door entrance, that's probably the room were we wait to go into another room where Sebastian, Doug and the guys are talking to there leader.
I hummed agreeing with my mind, it made sense. Patrick came forward to my ear to whisper. "You nervous". Thinking I shook my head with a no. To be quiet honest I wasn't nervous, the anticipation of seeing the leader was a bit uncomfortable but I felt safe here nevertheless. As Patrick looked at this watch he motioned for us to go into the next room. Walking past the men playing pool they seemed to continue without giving us a second glance.
And just as I predicted we were in a small waiting room. Looking to the other end of the room to huge oak doors stood and behind them was the person we came to see. Patrick let me sit down and he sat opposite me.
"Essie we have ten minutes and then we go in. It's going to be fine and don't worry" He looked sincere and I could see he was worried for me. I nodded "Thankyou Patrick, your a good friend"He grinned, as his green eyes sparkled. "You and me are friends. YES!" he hooted. A smiled slightly and stood. I couldn't sit still. Walking to the window there was a small car park, each space filled with a gorgeous car. A red with 2 black stripes one caught my eye, it was a mustang 1967? GT, my eyebrows scrunched together.
Where had I seen that?
I swear it was itching my mind and I couldn't scratch it.The opening of the big doors opened and shut. Keeping my eyes on the mustang I tried to remember were is saw it. The talking behind me was a blur as focused on the car.
Sighing I knew I seen it somewhere not just in a magazine.
"So you like cars huh?"
Whipping around, I stumbled back landing on the ground and gaped.
Red.
It was Red
The Mustang was his
The walk to school
Red!
