(Enter MISS QUELCY,  BEA, MAE, MR. TWIGMEYER, MR. CHAZOKOV and ENSEMBLE)
MR. TWIGMEYER: I told you, Chazokov… The schools should get police to walk around the campus. Maybe that’ll stop the students from disappearing! The school could be sued for not taking control and stopping the disappearances.
MR. CHAZOKOV: I told you time and time again, Mr. Twigmeyer… The school doesn’t have enough funds to pay for extra protection.
BEA: Mae, there are too many people here… Maybe we should come back later…
MAE: Wait… (Climbs onto a nearby table) Everybody, run, hide the kidnappers could be anywhere! Lock your doors, bolt your windows and hide in the basement!… And if you don’t have a basement… Build one!
(Everyone stares at MAE like she’s insane, she screams then everyone starts running around. Exit ENSEMBLE. MAE walks over to MISS QUELCY, followed by BEA)
MISS QUELCY: May I help you?
MAE: We’re looking for information on the disappearing locals… Do you know anything about that?
MISS QUELCY: I may be a librarian but that doesn’t mean I know everything…
MAE: Meaning?
BEA: That means no, Mae.
MISS QUELCY: I bet you can ask the only two customers I have left since you scared off the rest…
MAE: Sorry about that…
MISS QUELCY: And I bet you can find an article or two online about it…
BEA: Thank you…
(MAE drags BEA over to MR. TWIGMEYER and MR. CHAZOKOV)
MR. TWIGMEYER: I will personally sue the school i-
MAE: Hello.
MR. TWIGMEYER: Not now child, I’m having an important argument!
MAE: Child?… I’ll have you know I work for the government!
BEA: (Facepalm) (Mumbles) Why me…?
MR. CHAZOKOV: So sorry about his manners… How may we help you?
MAE: I want you to tell me everything you know about the missing locals.
MR. CHAZOKOV: A bunch of local parents are complaining that their children are missing and they’re threatening to sue the high school.
MR. TWIGMEYER: Some of our students haven’t been seen around school, recently. I’ve been having to mark about half of my students absent for the past month. Nobody has any idea what happened to them. More go missing every day.
BEA: And that’s all you know?
MR. CHAZOKOV: Yes.
MAE: Thank you sir.
(MAE and BEA walk over to a computer, MAE sits down and starts to search for articles.)
BEA: Find anything?
MAE: Yes, about four hundred years ago the same thing happened.
BEA: Four hundred years ago? How do we know for sure?
MAE: The journals of course!
BEA: Right…
MAE: Apparently, the miners kept disappearing in the mines… There were no traces of the bodies and no traces of running away.
BEA: Mines, what mines? There are no mines in Shorelake Springs.
MAE: I know…
BEA: Are you sure it’s at the right place?
MAE: I’m positive.
BEA: Odd…
(BEA’s phone buzzes with a text message and she checks her phone)
MAE: Who is it?
BEA: Gregg.
MAE: What does it say? Anything about the case?
BEA: No… It just says, meat us at Pizza Doughnuts…
MAE: Pizza Doughnuts?
BEA: The pizzeria and the doughnut store now work in the same building…
MAE: Oh…
BEA: Should we go?
MAE: Uh... Duh! Nothing beats pizza and doughnuts!
