Silence.I groaned, with my alarm finally shut off, I pulled myself up into a sitting position. Kicking off the covers, I climbed out of my bed and stretched my arms in the air, shirt lifting up to reveal my pale stomach.
I sighed and scratched my head, hair in a huge rat's nest, and walked over to my measly dresser. Pulling out a comfy pair of gray sweat pants and a light blue semi-fitted t-shirt with faded lettering, I walked into my bathroom. After getting dressed and fixing myself up for school, I journeyed into my room again and pulled my bag and camera out. Placing my camera in my bag before leaving the room.
Thudding down the stairs, I grabbed a breakfast bar from the kitchen and yelled good-bye to Mom before grabbing the keys to my car and leaving for school.
On the way into the school building, my phone rang.
It read:
"Alexa is calling..."Quickly answering her call, I placed the phone a ways away from my ear. Ready for a dangerously loud volume to shatter my ear drums.
"MADDDDDEEEE!! GUESS WHO JUST GOT BACK FROM THEIR TRIP! MEEEE!! Ok, I will see you at school, right?" Alexa screamed through the phone speaker.
I laughed, "Hi Alexa, i'm glad you are back too! I will see you at school."
"Ok, you have to tell me anything that happened while I was gone! Ok?"
"Ok. See you at school. Ok- bye."
"Bye-bye!"
Chuckling, I hung up the call and journeyed into school, preparing for a hopefully less boring day with Alexa here.
After third period, I joined up with Alexa in the halls and we talked about her trip. Well, it was mostly her doing the talking, I was just listening.
"So, did anything happen to you while I was gone?" Alexa finally stopped talking about her trip and looked at me to catch her breath.
"Honestly?" I asked turning to face her and stopping us in the hallway. She nodded and started to look worried. "I took a lot of pictures yesterday, like always and I was looking through them on the way back and found this one." I stopped, waiting for her reaction so I could keep going.
With her eyes wide and waiting for the rest of the story, "Anndddd?"
I sucked in a breath, voice slightly wavering, "One... One had a boy in it. With a... a black hoodie and-"
"What! Who was it? What did he look Like? When was-"
"Alexa! Let me finish!" I said, my eyes portraying my annoyed feeling in her dorection.
"Sorry, continue." She said sheepishly, urging me to go on.
"Ok, he was wearing a black Abercrombie hoodie, had dark brown hair, and he was pointing a camera at me. Taking a picture, most likely. I didn't get any of his face except a bit of his defined chin with stubble. His was broad and slouchy." My explaining seemed to stop her from being able to talk.
She just looked at me and opened her mouth. Then closed it. She was speechless except for this, " he has to be hot! When we get out of school I will meet you at the park and you will show me this picture."
"Ok, I gotta go to class now. See you at the park!" I booked it to my next class and continued thinking about that stupid boy in the picture.
After my A.P classes in the afternoon and lunch between, I met up with my best friend. Prepared to go to my sanctuary with her.
Alexa smiled when she saw me and pulled out the door before I could say a word. We rushed out to her car and she had her lips turned up in satisfaction as I pulled out my camera to show her to picture when we were seated.
"He is hot!" Her features shown with proof of her statement. Lips curled up, eyes shining as she looked at me, and cheek lifted to show slight crinkles by the corners of her lips.
I mirrored her expression, with dimples creasing my cheeks and eyes squinted with happiness at my best friend.
"We have to find him for you. He has to be your boyfriend! Omigosh, I am going to start planning you wedding when I get home, what colors do you prefer blue and gray or blue and-" her rambling slowly faded out of my consciousness and I gazed out the front window.
My eyes landed on a black Abercrombie hoodie covered back and dark brown hair curled over slightly above the top of the hoodie on his head. My eyes widened in realisation, fingers started shaking as I shook Alexa out of her dreamy state and pointed to the guy.
She stopped and her eyes swept over my reaction, gauging how I was.
With shaky hands, I reached for my camera. Scrolling through the photos quickly, I stopped at the one with him in it. Comparing the real person to the one in the photograph.
"We have to get out of here. Now. Let's move Alexa." I gasped out, my nerves getting the better of me. She turned to me to object, and I looked her in the eyes. Hoping my eyes weren't betraying what I really felt.
Alexa knowingly nodded her head, sending me a softened gaze, before starting the car and pulling out of the school parking lot.
When we reached the park, not before showing Jeanie some pictures, we parked and threw our bags in the trunk of the little beat-up Chevy.
With my camera strap resting on my neck and beautiful camera in hand, I moved swiftly around the astounding nature placed in the park and snapped shots of anything and everything.
Alexa had taken to resting and reading on my favorite bench, we happened to find it together before I started coming here daily. I walked over to her and sighed heavily, hoping to get her attention. Seeing as she was covering the entire bench with her long legs splayed out across it.
Without getting an answer from her, I grumbled under my breath and quickly sat down on her crossed legs. Sending her into a high pitched yelp, while swiftly retreating her legs to a bend in front of her. She huffed and sent an annoyed glare my way before placing her book down.
"Whatcha' readin'?" I asked, my lips turned in a happy smile, glad that I had succeeded in annoying her and getting a spot on our bench.
"It is called, Since You've Been Gone. A girl's best friend leaves unexpectedly and leaves a list for her to complete. I actually really like it." Alexa replied, still slightly aggravated with me at sitting on her shins.
"Hmm. Well I got my daily fill of pictures, you ready to go?" I reached I look at her book and read the back. Looking up at her and she nodded.
We started walking back to the car, I scrolled through my new pictures and stopped in my tracks. Alexa glanced back over her shoulder and her eyes squinted a bit while her head tilted slightly.
My hands started shaking again, I was getting really creeped out by this boy. He was wearing the same hoodie with his hair styled the same way. The picture was at a different angle, me capturing him from the side instead of face on. His hood covered most of his face, only his nose and hair poking through and he had the camera pressed against his face once again.
My hands shook as I held the camera out to Alexa, who had managed to turn around and face me. She looked at the picture, shock crossing her face before a smile took hold of her shimmery pink lips.
Her gaze moved from the camera to me and she gave out a happy cry, suddenly jumping up and down. With my camera in her hands!
"Alexa! My camera!" She stopped and sheepishly handed it back. Her brunette waves shading her eyes. I laughed and punched her in the shoulder after looping the strap back around my neck.
"You have nothing to worry about. We are going to find this guy. I promise you. And then you will fall in love and I will get to plan your wedding!!" She gave another happy cry. I just laughed and we headed back to her car.
