Right now Caitlyn, Mitchie, Tess and I are stuck in Brown's office listening to two girls shout over top of each other.
"She's always been jealous of me," I can vaguely hear Tess' words.
"She's impossible! She walks around like she always-" Caitlyn yells over top of her.
"Whoa! Enough! Make it plain, who was the first one to throw food?" Brown asks simply, and I just know that Tess already won - however I tried my best to help Caitlyn out.
"With all do respect Brown, it was an accide-" I get interrupted by the vicious blonde on my right.
"That's easy, Caitlyn." Was she really that low? What is her problem!
I can't help but look over to see Mitchie sitting there like nothing was happening. As if Tess wasn't acting like the biggest jerk who walked the Earth.
"That's technically true, but-" Caitlyn gets outs before she's interrupted again by Brown.
"No buts. Since you wanna play with food, I can hook you up with a job this Summer. From here on out, you're on kitchen duty," he finishes.
I can't help but stare wide eyed, this can't be happening!
Both Mitchie and I stand up in defence, "what!?" we both say in a synchronised manner.
"I mean, ew," Mitchie corrects herself before she gives herself away. Not that it mattered anyways, soon enough - everyone will know her secret, and all of my friends will know that I was helping her lie all Summer.
"Happy cooking," Tess smiles with that evil grin and walks out of the room, happily eyeing Caitlyn.

"I can't believe she would do this!" Right now I was sitting on my bed in Caitlyn and I's cabin, listening to her rage on about Tess. "It's just, UGHHH!"
"I know," I attempt to calm my friend down. "She's horrible, we all know that. It's not like we were expecting anything better from her. I hate to say it. But you just have to let it go"
"Let it go? Let it go?! That's easy for you to say, you don't have to work in the kitchen for the rest of Summer. You don't have to spend your free time making the campers food." She yelled at me angrily. Little did she know.
"Okay. Okay. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you even more upset. Let's just go to sleep. You'll feel better in the morning." Her face softened and she lied down on her bed.
"You're right. Sorry for acting out. It's not your fault." She apologised.
"It's okay."
"I'm just glad I have someone who I can trust. Who won't lie to me. Thanks Faythe."
I nodded in her direction, but there was a gut-wrenching feeling from her words. She can't trust me, I am a liar.

The next morning, I woke up really early so that when Caitlyn came to the kitchen, I would be finished my stuff and be gone.
I made my way into the kitchen and greeted all of the staff members. "Good morning Connie," I smiled.
"Good morning Faythe. Wow, you're up early."
"Yeah. Thought I could get all my work done earlier, to have time to practice for final jam?" This wasn't a complete lie. I still had no idea what I was going to perform for the contest.
