Chapter 3: The Ghoulies

Toni's POV
Cheryl placed her hand on my cheek and moved her face closer and closer to mine. I was nervous but that didn't matter, nothing mattered. I felt her lips on mine, her lips were soft and gently. The butterfly's in my stomach were not calming down anything soon. I place my hands on her waist and her cheek. We were still kissing when I heard my door slam open.
"Toni! Toni!" Sweet Pea said frantically. He look around before he saw me and Cheryl. Cheryl and I separated but Sweet Pea still saw us.
"What?!" I yelled. I was irritated that he interrupted Cheryl and i's moment.
"It's the ghoulies! They're circling the trailer park. Fp says it's gonna get bloody and to get every serpent in sight to his trailer." Sweet Pea says. He was panting. I stood up and looked out my window I could see the ghoulies right outside my trailer since I was the trailer on the right. I looked back at Cheryl she look terrified.
"Okay um were coming. Go get Jughead he was supposed to be heading out to the north side." Sweet Pea nodded and ran back out.
"Cheryl it's going to be okay. I wouldn't let them hurt you. Follow me." I said as I grabbed her hand and ran out the door. I looked around and saw a least a a hundred ghoulies surrounding the trailer park. We ran hand in hand to Fp trailer. When we got there majority of the serpents were all ready there.
"We all now I hate violence but there is no other way to resolve this. So grab a weapon and just start swinging." Fp said.
"I not a serpent! We have to get out of here." Cheryl tells me. She was still holding my hand.
"Cheryl I made a promise to fight with the serpents and protect them. I can't just leave." I told her.
"What about me I'm not a serpent!" Cheryl said. She was a nervous mess.
"Fine! Follow me. We have to get my bike." I said.
"Where are you going?" Sweet Pea said.
"Classified information Sweet Pea!" I shouted while running. When we got to my bike I got on and Cheryl hesitated.
"Oh my god Blossom! Get on!" I yelled. She got on after hearing my urgent tone. I saw a small opening between a group of ghoulies. I revved my engine which scared them giving me more space. At a high speed we rode past them. I drove Cheryl all the way to Thistlehouse because I didn't want her anywhere near that war zone.
"I don't know how to say thank you." She says hugging me tightly.
"I know how." I said as I cupped her cheek and kissed her lightly. The kiss was long unlike our last one. I broke off the kiss when I realized that the serpent needed me.
"Cheryl I have to go back." I said. She looked sad.
"Please promise me you won't get hurt." She said looking into my eyes.
"I promise." I said. She gave me one final kiss before I started my bike again and rode off.

Cheryl's POV
After Toni left I missed her. I trusted her after only knowing her for a day. She was special, I know she is. I walk up the steps the the front door. I open the door to see mother was at the window, she had seen everything.
"Cheryl get out of my sight!" She shouted at the top of her lungs. My heart was racing. I ran upstairs scared of what she might do next.
"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" I said. Tears begin to fall from my eyes without warning. My hated the fact that I was bisexual. She was stuck in some old fashion world were homophobia was still a thing. I can't let what happened to Heather happen to Toni.

Toni's POV
When I got back to the trailer park the ghoulies were gone. Serpent were all together in circle surrounding something. I get off my bike to look. I push the other serpents to see and on the floor laid a serpents shot in the head. He was dead. I ran out of the circle. I was pacing back and forth.
"Hey everyone away from the body!" Fp yelled. Everyone listened and backed away. We couldn't call the police because they would have blamed up for the death. Fp and two other serpent helped move and bury the body. I couldn't stay to watch the burial. I went to trailer and started crying. Maybe if I stayed and fought with the serpents he wouldn't had died. Just maybe he wouldn't. I wipe away my tears when I hear knocking at my door. It was Fp. He was still covered in blood.
"Where the hell were you? You left!" Fp yelled. Almost all the serpents heard/saw when I left.
"Cheryl was here and I...." I said. Fp didn't want to hear what I had to say.
"You took an oath to fight and protect the serpent!! We are family not some rich northsider!" Fp didn't stop yelling at me. I did feel bad for leaving but I wasn't going to risk Cheryl getting hurt over some rival gang.
"Maybe if your willing to save some northsider, your not really a serpent." Fp said. This hurt more then anything else he said.
"Don't say that! The serpents are all I have!!" I yelled back.
"Toni I want you out of the Southside by the end of the week." Fp said. After this he slammed the door shut and left. I have no one on the north side. I really fucked up this time.
