Part 2 continued...
"Guys, we are not going to waste our time discussing the past. Can we just move on?" My mom pleads. And I have no problem with that, but I have every right to not want to associate with my father or his son.
"I think that you guys are being mean. You haven't seen him in ten years, can't we talk about something else and stop being so hostile? Maybe you guys can reconnect about the good things like your accomplishments and stuff. I heard that you're a teach-," Kyle starts to speak but is cut off.
"Stay out of it Kyle. You're not apart of this. Mind your fucking business." My father says and my younger brother just looks away.
"Sorry dad," he mumbles. I looks at him and feel the need to hug him like he's my child. No child should be spoken to like that, and because he's the same age as my kids all I can picture is someone wrongfully speaking to them in a way that they don't deserve.
"Thank you sweetie," I force as best a smile that I can for him. He smiles back happily, "Oh, no problem!"
"Can you lower your fucking voice?" Taishawn taunts at him and Kyle's smile drops.
"Don't speak to him that way." I feel my parent side coming out. I would think that because I haven't known this kid for very long I wouldn't care. But I know that he doesn't deserve to be spoken to in such a hostile manner.
"That's my brother. And that's dads son. You've known him for ten minutes. I think we have a right to speak to him in any way we please without you interfering," Taishawn says and his voice is just so annoying I want to throw something at him. I don't care how long I've known him. Wrong is wrong.
Kyle takes out his phone and puts his headphones in. I can see that the first song that pops up is a song by Tyler, so to get him out of this awkward situation I'll just have Tyler sit with him.
"Excuse me," I say and head to the kitchen. Tyler is just sitting at the kitchen island.
"Tyler, can you keep my younger brother company. I want to get him away from my father and Taishawn.." I whisper to him and he nods.
"Yeah, that's cool. Bring him in. Imma be sitting right here though in case anyone try something, I won't interfere only if I don't hear them doing no foul shit."
I head back to the living room and call Kyle to follow me. He looks confused but happy to leave.
"What's going on?" He whispers to me.
"I saw the song on your playlist so ask him to perform it live for you."
"Huh?"
When we enter the kitchen I hear a crack and I can see that Kyle dropped his phone. His jaw is nearly to the floor.
"Dude, what the freak!!!!!!!?! Oh my god dude, what is even happening right now are you kidding me?! How come nobody- what- is Tyler really just casually sitting in your kitchen right now?! I mean I knew you knew him but he's actually here right now!!!"
"Hey lil' man. What's good with you?" Tyler smiles lightly and holds his hand out for a dap but Kyle actually shook his hand with both of his.
"It's so great to meet you finally. I've been dreaming about this day. Yo, I literally have all your songs on my phone," he bends down and picks up his phone. It's cracked badly and he looks worried for a split second but then remembers his excitement regarding Tyler.
He begins to ramble on and on about whatever comes to his mind and I appreciate Tyler for actually listening to him. I can tell that no one he lives with really cares for what he has to say. I was expecting not to care for him much since we don't really know each other, but I was absolutely wrong. This kid is so sweet.
