5: Work Hard Play Hard

     All day at school my mind was racing. I couldn't focus at all. The only thing I could think about was having to lie to Mr.G.  What if he goes to check and see if KeShawn actually swept? What if he loses all trust in me for lying?

     I shook it out of my head. The bell rung signaling it was time for lunch. I scanned the cafeteria looking for Keyona. I hadn't seen nor talked to her all day. I couldn't find her. It kinda killed my mood because lunch was so boring when you don't have nobody to talk to.

     I just scrolled through Instagram until I felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked up and lawd have mercy! It was KeShawn. His sexy chocolate skin radiated with beauty. His muscles were nearly popping out of his shirt. And my legs were shaking.

     "Hey Nay, you mind if I sit here real quick? I wanted to talk to you." He said with the sweetest tone in his voice. He had me under a spell.

     However, I had to play it cool. You can't let boys like KeShawn know you think they cute, they already know they cute. As far as I'm concerned I don't think KeShawns head could get any bigger.

   "Sure whatever." I said with a hint of Aggravation in my voice. Maybe that was little over the top.

     He let out a sigh. His head was kinda low and a vain in his forehead was bulging. "Look, don't speak. I just wanted to come over and be a man. I didn't mean to call you and Keyona hoes. I swear I'm not that disrespectful, I just got a lot going on with me right now. I'm not trying to say what I did was right, I'm just letting you know why I did what I did. The streets is hot right now and I guess when you started teasing and Keyona threatened to fight me, I just lost control. And I want you to know that after y'all two left, I did my work so you don't have to worry about that. I've been trying to find Keyona all day to apologize but I can't seem to find her. Anyway, I just wanted to apologize to you the most because I'm sure it's no secret that I gotta little thing for ya shawty. I'm owning up to it now. Tell Mr.G whatever you want, I understand if you have to tell him about me hitting Keyona. Just know I'm cool now."

    "Wow." I said taken aback by his sweet words. He confessed he has a thing for me yassss. "Thank you for apologizing. Don't worry about Mr.G. He don't have to know as long as we cool." I smiled.

     "Thank you Naylani. I really appreciate you for that." He smiled back.

     "So... uh... You got a thing for me?" I questioned in a teasing manner.

     "Well who wouldn't? You're beautiful. There isn't a word in the English dictionary to describe how magnificent you are babygirl. You are the epitome of a queen." He flashed his white teeth at me.

     I couldn't help but blush. A large cheesy smile spread across my face. I had to use my hands to cover it up because I just couldn't stop smiling.

I let out a little giggle, "Well thank you."

He took out his phone, unlocked it, and slid it in front of me. "Do me a favor and put your number in there. I need to continue to talk to you girl."

I put my number in and made my contact Naylani💘 . I smiled to myself and passed him back his phone. By that time the bell rung and everyone scattered to their classes.

"I'll see you tomorrow afternoon in the library?" He asked.

"Yes!" I said too excitedly. I cleared my throat, "I mean yea, whatever."

I walked away from the table. I could feel KeShawn staring at me so I moved my ass extra hard as I walked. I couldn't help but smile for the rest of the day.

I know KeShawn can be a player, but maybe I'm different. Maybe he actually cares about me. Maybe I will be the one to change him.

I'm not sure what really came over me to apologize. As a man, I can't leave on a bad note. Truth be told, I do genuinely feel something for Nay. Shit, ion even know what epitome mean, but it sounded right. Ha.
