Y/N pov

I've known Steven and the crystal gems for a while now and I appreciate them. They are cool and awesome! Last week a broke my arm so I couldn't really hang out with them a lot. I was laying in bed and staring at the ceiling until there was a knock. I groaned and got up to the front door and opened it.

"Hello?" Nobody was there and closed the door. I was about to go back to bed until I heard another knock. I didn't want to deal with this so I yelled. "QUIT KNOCKING ON MY DOOR!" "Aww but y/n, don't you wanna do something with your favorite Steven?" I opened the door and saw Steven with his cheeseburger backpack and he was with a green gem? "Sorry. But uh who's that?" I say as I pointed to the green gem. She looks nervous.

Steven pov

"Oh that's just Peridot. Remember I told you about her before. You never met her because you haven't been outside of your house recently." I saw peridot get nervous. She never gets nervous. OH MY STARS SHE LIKES Y/N! I made a mental note to keep that in mind and I looked back a y/n.

I heard her mumble something before asking another question. "So, what are we doing today? Normally you come here to take me somewhere." "Well I was thinking that we could actually come to your house and cheer you up. I felt guilty that I drag you to places when you wanna stay home so, what do you say?" She looked like she was thinking about something before moving to the side and letting us in. "Let me warn you it's a mess in here."

Y/N pov

I let them in and closed the door after. "So what's in that backpack of yours?" Steven looked at me and then whispered "Its a surprise." I nodded and looked at Peridot. She'd just been standing there this whole time. We sat in a comfortable silence for about a minute before peridot stood up. She walked over to me and stuck her hand out and I just looked at it.

"Nice to meet you I'm Peridot." I grabbed her hand and shook it. "Y/n. Nice to meet you too." She sat back down and Steven had pulled out some board games and cards out of his backpack. He had some snacks in there but he said is was for later. A little while later in the middle of Steven's magic trick Peridot looked like she was very uncomfortable. "Ok so Peridot you picked a card, and the only people who know what it is are you and y/n, correct?" I nodded my head yes and peridot sat there. "If my calculations are correct, your card is the 2 of hearts!" Steven said with a smug look on his face. Before I could say anything she bolted out the door. "Was I right y/n?" "Erm no. It was an ace." "Oh, well I think we should go after her. Will you help?" "Alright."

Peridot pov

WHAT AM I THINKING!? WHAT WAS STEVEN THINKING?! 2 OF HEARTS! WE AREN'T IN LOVE, IM IN LOVE WITH HER/HIM! I DON'T EVEN KNOW IF THEY LOVE ME! NOW IM SITTING ON A HILL! STEVEN BROUGHT ME HERE TO HELP HIS FRIEND! THEY DIDN'T EVEN CALL ME CUTE! I DON'T KNOW IF I SHOULD BE HAPPY OR MAD! I MEAN THEY EVE-

"PERIDOT! Where'd you go? We still need to watch a movie!" STEVEN IS YELLING! THAT MEANS THAT THERE LOOKING FOR ME! IF I DIDN'T RUN AWAY NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPEN-

"Boo." "AHHH WHAT WAS THAT FOR YOU CLOD!? AND HOW DID YOU FIND ME?!"

"Please stop screaming. You were mumbling something and I guess you didn't hear me. I was trying to get your attention but you wouldn't listen so I scared you. Why'd you run off anyways? Was it because of my magic trick?" I took a deep breath in and sighed. Well at least y/n isn't here. "Um well your see...Kinda I mean...I just really like y/n ok!?." "What did you say peridot, I couldn't hear you?" "I SAID I REALLY LIKE Y/N YOU CLOD!" "OH MY STARS! I was right! Tell her!" "What!? No!" "Then I will!" Steven said smugly. "Ok I'll tell her/him."

Y/N pov

Steven told me to check the beach while he checked somewhere else. I got bored and started to draw in the sand with my good arm. I guess I still do act like a child. I was making a smiley face in the sand but my finger got cut on a piece of broken seashell. It started to bleed so on put my finger in my mouth. I walked around for a little more before Steven texted me saying he found Peridot. I started heading back and I saw Steven and peridot in front of my house. I waved and walked over taking my finger out of my mouth. Must have looked weird because they both looked confused. Then Steven walked up and said, "Hey y/n. Peridot wants to tell you something so I'm going inside to set up the movie." He went inside and I looked at Peridot.

"So what is it?" "I umm...really...like you." She looked down shyly and I smiled. "Hey don't look down, I think I like you too." Peridot looked up at me with stars in her eyes and a shocked expression. "Really?" "Really. Now come on, we still need to watch that movie with Steven." I said as we walked inside.
