chapter 7

What is so special about prom? And why must I need to attend that event? Death ended as my partner to the prom and because I have no one else as an option.

I sighed again. Its my habit and its hard to not to do it.

"Autumn, stop thinking and put on the dress before Trent get here to pick you up."

"Who is Trent?"

"Your charming boyfriend, silly. God, I can't believe you found him. I mean of course you will found a boyfriend but he is too much."

"Thank you Kayla. At least, I know that you like my boyfriend."

"Oh don't blame me, Autumn. I would die for him."

"Kayla, if you want to make me feel better, stop talking like you want me to broke up with him."

"I am just joking, Autumn. Here, lets me fix you little bit more. Okay, what kind of make up you want to wear?"

"Should I wear a make up?"

"You should, girl. This is prom night. Every girl want to be beautiful on this night except you. May I ask why?"

"Because its not important as my study."

"But its important for your social life, Autumn. Here, your hair is done but your face is not. And, Trent will be here anytime soon."

"He can wait."

"But the event not. Autumn, please trust me and Trent for this time. You will be okay since your partner is not from your school. I trust Trent on this."

Maybe I should. After all, I will go with him.

"Okay."

Kayla hug my shoulder and smile. She staring at our image on the mirror.

"You are so beautiful, Autumn. I am proud to be your friend. Here, you are all ready."

"Thank you Kayla. This is mean a lot to me."

"Sure, darling. Oh, speaking about the devil, he is here."

I turn to the doorway. I gasped, almost chocked with my own breath. How can be Death look so handsome? Only this time, his black tux is so perfect on him. I can feel my heart beating faster than usual. God! I am going to be crazy. For Death.

"Hi girls. Are you ready?" Death staring at me but I have no idea what is inside his mind. He is Death, okay.

"She is ready. One words to you dear, please take care of her with your life."

"Sure, Kayla."

"Okay, enough you two. I can protect myself. And, lets go. We don't have the whole day to standing here."

"One moment." Kayla take out her phone and asked us to pose. She take a photo of me and Death and another one for three of us.

"Oh.. what a beautiful pair. I will glad to become your single adopted mother, Autumn."

I hug her. I know she is have a kind heart but I don't want to hurt her with my future condition.

"Thank you, Kayla. See you later."

"Yes, enjoy yourself."

I waved to her and step inside the luxury car of Death. He closed the door for me and make his way to the driver seat.

Again, my heart beat is starting raged. I palmed my chest. Don't blame me, this is my first time going out with someone who is opposite gander of me. And he is Death.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"I am fine, Death. I just adjusting myself to this situation. I am getting nervous."
