10 December 2016

The days dragged along when Yoongi didn't come in. The hours felt like years and Victoria found herself actually reaching out to people and offering to go places just to get her mind off of him. But she couldn't stay away from her shop every day. Money had to be made and candles had to be sold.

She was sitting behind the counter, catching up on her book that she'd been neglecting. The day had been pretty slow with only a handful of customers by the time the late afternoon rolled around. She thought that it would be empty for the rest of the day, but she was proved wrong when the bell dinged and Jungkook entered, a small girl following him.

He gave her a big smile and waved. The girl only looked her up and down, almost as if analyzing whether or not she was someone to take as a challenge. Victoria would never admit it but the small girl's stare was both intimidating and terrifying. It was almost like the first night she met Yoongi and that gangster came in.

The memory led to more thoughts of him and she sighed sadly. Would it kill him to drop by more often or at least get her number? The mutual interest and attraction were pretty clear to her. Was he mental? Why did everything have to be a game?

"Noona, are you okay?"

She didn't even realize that Jungkook had crossed the room to meet her at the counter until his voice snapped her out of her thoughts. The girl was now standing there too, gazing up at Victoria coolly. Compared to her full-blooded peers, she had always been tall. But Jungkook was much taller than her and the height difference between him and the girl was even more dramatic. It was kind of cute.

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm good," she lied, failing to keep her voice from shaking.

Jungkook realized that the girl was staring at Victoria, so he quickly began speaking. "Iseul, this is Victoria. Victoria-noona, this is my..." He became extremely flustered as the words refused to come out. "This is Iseul."

"We're on a date," Iseul said quickly, eyes never leaving Victoria's.

She's a feisty one, she thought. "Well, thanks for coming here."

"Noona has a thing with Yoongi-hyung," Jungkook whispered without leaning in.

Victoria snorted, heat rising to her cheeks at an alarmingly quick rate. "What? Me—me and Yoongi? Please. I mean, like—please. We don't even—we haven't—"

Jungkook's giggle cut her off and he nudged Iseul. "See?"

Victoria narrowed her eyes, face flushing even more. What did he know? He hadn't spent even a day around her. Though, he knew Yoongi better than anyone. Had the little street rat said anything about her?

She decided to let the idea go and stayed silent while the two browsed her items. However, it didn't last long. Curiosity got the best of her and she blurted out, "So where is Yoongi?"

Jungkook smiled widely, looking up from the item she was scanning for him. "Not sure. When he doesn't talk to me it's usually because he's doing shady things so I don't question it."

He laughed, but Victoria stared in dismay. What the hell was that supposed to mean? Was he always in trouble? Was death around the corner and she was becoming emotionally invested in a ticking time bomb?

Jungkook and Iseul left, but his words plagued her all night. She had visions of Yoongi in terrible situations including being chased by murderers, the police, ending up in Prison, ending up dead. It made her stomach turn and she was kicking herself for overthinking so much but she couldn't help it. She cared about the cheeky bastard and the thought of him being in danger did not sit well.

Eventually, the exhaustion was too much and she fell into a troubled sleep, hoping he would come by soon so her fears could be silenced.
