Halloween was not something widely celebrated in Korea, especially because they knew that in America, it was often an excuse to wear something like only duct tape over the nipples and call it a costume. However, to prevent this sort of phenomena, the prefects and teachers would let the younger children dress up in cute costumes and play games.
This left the older children to their own devices. Victoria didn't know much about the holiday anyway, except that for one year while they were staying at her uncle's house in America, she and her brothers found a rich neighborhood and conned the wealthy of all their big and expensive candy—using their youngest brother to lie and guilt, of course.
So when Jin presented a slutty maid costume he bought through shady means to her the previous day, all she could do was laugh. What she didn't realize was that the handsome psychopath was very good at persuading and she could only pout as she stood by Hoseok's bed that night, her embarrassingly mediocre-sized breasts barely peeking out of the black and white lace material.
Jin was laying on the plush material in a North Korean soldier's uniform, which he would have been in big trouble for if the prefects weren't preoccupied. His hands were interlocked behind his head, eyes closed as he seemed content waiting for Hoseok to come out of his closet where he was changing into his costume.
After what seemed like much longer than ten minutes, the white doors slid open, revealing the thin boy in a skin-tight skeleton leotard that left nothing to the imagination. Victoria found her eyes wandering to his lower half and she choked on air as she quickly looked away with a blush. This made Jin open his eyes. He looked at her before peering at Hoseok with a smirk.
"What are you doing?" Hoseok asked him with disdain.
Jin shrugged. "Not much. Just lying here." He paused to sit up, his legs swinging over to land on the floor. "Wishing I could be more like you."
"Whatever..."
"But," the oldest continued with a dramatic sigh. "I'm cursed."
Hoseok narrowed his eyes, arms crossing over his chest. His gaze flickered momentarily to Victoria, but he quickly looked back at Jin, his lips pursing slightly. "Yeah? Really..."
"Yeah." Jin stood now, his height becoming more obvious. "Cursed with brains," he hissed. "Do you know how much torture it is to be thinking—all the time? No, of course, you don't."
The younger rolled his eyes as Jin walked around to the door where Victoria was. "Yeah, you're cursed. You're great. Whatever."
Victoria could almost feel the tension in the air, the atmosphere giving her goosebumps. "Come on, guys," she said firmly. "Let's just go find Jimin."
"Noona," Hoseok began, venturing closer as he looked her up and down. Her cheeks blushed furiously and she began to hate Jin more and more with each passing second. "Nice costume."
Jin laughed, hooking an arm around her shoulder. "Right? I convinced her to wear it."
"I hate you both," she muttered, shrugging him off.
Hoseok only smirked. "What else is new?"
"Not much," Jin replied, back to business. "Let's see...it's Halloween." An explosion sounded from the hallway, followed by male shouts and the scent of smoke. Victoria jumped, but it didn't seem to affect the other two. "The prefects are all at some party and the teachers are entertaining—I use that word loosely—the kids." With an exasperated sigh, he clasped his hands together. "No, I'd say the opportunities for fun are pretty much nil."
