Chapter 5

I heard my alarm beeping I woke and checked my phone.It was Monday today. I hate Mondays and I start school today ugg.

I finally got the strength to get up from bed.(I'm not really a morning person)

I went to my closet to pick out my outfit.Looking around I decided on a black skater skirt and a white crop top paired with white converse.I brushed my hair and curled it.I headed downstairs to eat breakfast."good morning mom." I said. "Hey hun"my mom said." You look all pretty today"my mom said. " Well today is the first day of my new school.I don't want to go all ugly"I said giggling.

"Okay eat your breakfast so I can take you and your sister to school." she said. I ate my breakfast then headed upstairs to brush my teeth.I got my backpack then went to the car.

My mom dropped my sister Liz off first.We finally made it to my school.I attend Compton high school.It was only a few minutes away from where I live. I was nervous when we began to pull up to the drop off. I was new to the school.I had many thoughts flowing through my head.

What if I get lost? What if I don't make any friends? What if people hate me because I'm new?

"It's okay hun" my mom said. My mom knew I was nervous.She hugged me and I got out of the car. I waved her goodbye and I headed into the school. The school was huge! My nervousness increased. I didn't know what way the office was.Many people were looking at me. Thoughts flowing through my head.

why are thy looking at me. Do I have something on face? Do they hate me?

While I was thinking I ran into this girl. She had long brown hair and brown eyes. She was the same height as me.

"Oh I'm sorry"I said. "It's okay"the girl said. "Um I'm Annabelle"I said. Hopefully introducing myself I will make a friend. " I'm Karina are you new here?"she asked. "Nice to meet you and yeah I trying to find the office" I said. "You too and I'll show you follow me." She said. I followed her to the office. "I'll see you around I have to get something from my locker. Bye!" Karina said.

I walked into the office. The lady in the front desk saw me." Hello can I help you?" She asked. "Are you the new student Anna?" She asked. "Yes I am"

"Oh yes your mom called the office let me get your schedule" she said and and looked in her files to find my schedule. "What's your last name Anna?" The lady asked. " Ramirez"I said. "Oo here you go."the lady said.

I heard the bell ring so everyone was going to their first class. "I'll get my helper to take you to your first class. You just have to wait till she comes."

"Anna here is my helper." She said.

"Karina" I said. She's the girl I ran into in the hallway. " I told you I"ll see around"she said laughing.

"Karina can you take her to her first class please?" She asked. "Yes Mrs.Serna."

I was walking with Karina to my first class.My first class is science.

"Did you switch schools?" Karina said.

"No I moved to be closer to my dad since my parents are divorced but they are great friends "I said.

"Cool and you picked this school?" She said. "No my mom did." I said.

"It's an okay school by the way. The thing I hate about this school is that there drama and to many skater dudes." She said. " oh great I don't like skaters or drama." I said groaning.Karina laughed. " You and me both. " here's your class." She said.
